Yea like gta V, deus X and Rise of the tomb raider and one or two more. The other 99.9% of games run just fine.princeofcarthage wrote:there are games where 1080 struggles at 1080p lol on ultra settingsgibson wrote:Not really. In a first person shooter anyone will notice it instantly. This is the case for any high motion game. I get 144 frames in just about every game I play and my monitor is even 1440 lol. Re: sound bug
Im a bit skeptical on the actual playability at a capped frame rate. Im mostly refering to input lag for example.
I'd say in competitive games you want as many frames as possible and rendered in real time (1 frame pre render) just so that every input is registered and used. Visualy speaking in aoe3 60 vs 144 shouldnt make a difference at all at least for what concerns competitive purposes. Besides most monitors are 60mhz anyway.

You basically quoted the only games those matter anyways
Fine line to something great is a strange change.
Re: sound bug
I could see a technical case for Vsybc helping because of how replays work in fast mode.
My sound bug happens when I have other audio sources playing along with the game. I believe that also influences it. I lose sound in team games way more because I listen to music and want to chill. Then I lose sound and play even worse ontop of that, it’s awful.
I think for smoothness and performance of this game and all games really you want a high FPS. It’s not even for what you see but for how well your inputs go into the game.
Not sure if newer games have solved that.

Re: sound bug
when I didnt have vsync on my laptop used to run this game with over 600 frames per second for some reason, causing my GPU to go into the 95%99 % usage. With vsync turned on it's limited at 60 and the usages is just around 25%. i've never noticed anything about it causing sound bug tho. for me it also seemed to be what ryan said, i noticed soundbug happening way more often when I had music, netflix or youtube on in the background.

Yea for other games as well turning off vsync and maxing out FPS makes it run more smoothly.

Re: sound bug
playing games that involve any time of precision just sucks at 60 fps. playing without sound also sucks. I haven't decided which is worse yet.
