Maybe you should thank them. 100 hours a week seems an unhealthy habit

I think ESOC have done a great job but why do the numbers decline.. why canât we attract new players. Why arenât people likening this game!? Itâs my favourite. I just get so upset seeing the game in this state. The truth is AoE4 properly wonât be what I like and it all ends. Is this just me..?
New AOEs are killing this AOE. Moral of Story: Nothing is eternal in this world.

That's a good moral.

Someone should make a Battle Royale scenario for AoE 3
Already there. It's called lost!
Where you gone? :'(
Re: AoE3 makes me really upset
Its somewhat same as with the counter strike series.
Source released was succesfull lot of people loved it but it had no competitive/secured/official interface for matchmaking.
Global offensive released same engiene, same (some times bad) hitboxes, kinda same maps, but they made a good competitive online matchmaking and it was the key to the succes.
Everyone who has eyes can see that this game could be in the top played online games.
Competitive online matchmaking on secured servers.
Map balance + some minor balance tweak.
But maybe they do the same as cs series did. Release the 4. age it will be the same as 3 with a bit better graphics and competitive matchmaking + balanced map + some member of balance team...
Instant free succes.

Re: AoE3 makes me really upset
Well, it's not that surprising. Youngsters prefer other game genres, and RTS games never were as popular as shooters. What I don't quite understand is why AoE II is way more popular than AoE III (we can put AoM there, too)
Also, something similar happens with fighting games: when you start playing online the game isn't very friendly with newcomers. There's a large, deep hole you have to jump over, and most people don't bother, cause of the time and dedication you gotta put in. It's way easier to play a game of LoL, CoD, and all that stuff.
