Hey guys long time since I played aoe3, how active is the community? Do people play tad or vanilla? Is their new patches or maps or anything since wcg 07 or 08 can't remember when Ryan won.

Community usually peaks at around 2200-2300 users online in the weekends (about 2100 on weekdays) and goes down to maybe 450 when it is morning in Europe. I think TAD holds the majority now, though there are still plenty of people on nilla (TWC is deserted). I think there have been multiple patches since 2008. There are about 15 new awesome maps made by a top player called Garja. Ryan also came back and has been playing since the beginning of this year. You should check out some of the streams, especially the ones on ESOCTV and the past prodcasts on http://twitch.tv/ageofempires where you will find a popular stream called "Saturday Smackdown", a casted best of 7 between mostly top players.
