Best Cavalry Unit

I like Sowars a lot. Their speed is a big advantage. What do you think.

No Cuirs, Meteors, Iron flails, Lancers or Spahis cause those are heavy fav units and can't be objectively compared to normal "medium" cav like huss or uhlan

Hussar very good always.
Cossack best cost wise.

According to mankle, ulhan sucks (I read that in someones signature)

Axe riders are the best colonial cavalry unit in terms of attack and hp.

Cossacks have more ups than most cav (10% hp and +4 LOS) and are a very cost effective unit not only for the 1 pop.

I may have a bit of a personal bias against Cossacks - they have let me down in cav fights more than once.

Steppe is the best one. I mean you them two of them for free if you train 3 Chu-Ko-Nu. This MUST be OP.

Depends how you use cav. If you just need meatshields for your goon-skirm army, or just need to intercept other people's cav, huss is probably the best (excluding AR). If your cav is a major part of your comp, like with Germany,ulhans/nagis/sowars/the more specialised cav are better.

They are all single use units, so it stands to reason everyone would have a different opinion - they are all considering different situations. For example, sowars can be great against, say xbows, but leave a lot to be desired when it comes to raiding and cav fights.

the problem of axe rider is that they only have 0.2 range resistance. and they do 0.75 to dragoon. thats why sioux lose to dragoon skirm.

To be fair, Sioux very rarely train axe heavy compositions for battles. Axes are good for raising, due to their high attack

But its not like you can ever choose to make either sowar or uhlan... You either make melee cav or you dont

hussars also have 0.2 rr anyway i dont think sioux loses to skirm goon :/ bow riders just to strong and the sucking warchief omg and add to it dog soldiers, axe riders and sometimes wakina too
