I might actually like coyotes the best out of these. Although meteor hammers are my actual favorite.

I think cossaks are the most cost effective cav unit after all the upgrades. Though axe riders are really good for their cost

I think that the OP wanted to know which colonial cavalry unit is the best, thus he used "medium" since he probably consideres the fortress cavalry units as heavier and better armed.

Meteor Hammer FTW. Best unit for both raiding and fighting. Doesn't have the most significant cavalry issues - the path issues. With some hand infantry (i.e. Changdao Swordsmen) on front even in cover mode they rape everything quite fast. I can't image what it will be if those had some more upgrades and could be trained without Iron Flails.

I voted for uhlan because of how quickly they can be massed early (due to being free with shipments). Having a large mass early can be game changing. Again, stat for stat they would never be considered the best, but those are my reasons for liking them.

Yes 17% less damage (25 vs 30) 15.6% less hp (270 vs 320) and they cost around 3% less in villager seconds zz.
