Hello,
Long time lurker and a player since 2006. I recognise a lot of names and players.
ESO: KingRossXIV ( I was 14 at the time of my account being created).
Current Rank: PR 24
Old Rank: 31 (Old ELO 2400 Team)
Background:
These days I almost exclusively play 3v3s for fun but back in the heights of my play used to play in some RTSL tournaments and other competitions predominantly for NerVe clan (rip).
I play 3-4 nights a week and have started to get into some 1v1 games recently when numbers are low online. Pretty extensive knowledge of the game after ten years but mostly play on auto-pilot mode.
I am pretty comfortable in playing all civs but my most played currently are: Brits, Japan & India.
Would love to give the ESO-C patch a go but I play on a Mac via Crossover porting a Windows Steam. It is flaky at best already and I am not sure how I got it to run, don't want to risk any further pressure on it. I will likely continue to be a low post lurker but want to thank you guys for some of the snippets and nuggets of new information I keep gaining.
Stealth Edit - When creating an account on here and choosing a nationality. Great Britain is not a country or a sovereign state. Great Britain refers to the main island of the United Kingdom which encompasses the passionately different England, Wales and Scotland. Perhaps a United Kingdon option would be more politically correct. I would hate to know if there is just an 'Ireland' option. The Unionists and Republicans would have a field day!

Most likely. Back in the day I frequented nearly every AOE forum imaginable.

Nice. I was the same (and also very young when I started back in 2006). I think I was probably a bit of a brat on AgeComm, but nobody here has to know that.
I am also playing AOE on Mac by the way. Instead of your setup, I use Parallels and run Windows 10 inside of a Virtual Machine. Works great! Might be an option if you have any other Windows programs you'd like to run or you really get an itch for using the ESO-C fanpatch. I have access to some quite affordable Windows 10 licenses if any fellow AOE enthusiast happened to need one.

Hi Guys,
After a long time I picked up this game again. Played it a hell of a lot like 5 years ago. But almost always just with friends and single player. Just picked it up from Steam again and I want to do some serious multiplayer :). I should be back on track after some games for sure, just need to level up a bit
.
So first things first, is it common to install the EP fan patch? How many players play with and without?
I'm a 27 male from the Netherlands by the way..
Cheers

EP is the most common patch for any competitive gameplay due to its improved balance and many bug fixes. There are not, however, that many people playing on it or rather hosting games there, especially on lower levels. If you have any friends, though, you should always try to convince them to download the EP or ask them to switch just for the superior gameplay experience.

Persian, how long have you been playing AOEIII? Did you play previous games in the "Age of" series?
Kike, are you one of the lucky few to have seen the flying spaghetti monster?
Konami, why you gotta make us all look bad. You just got here and you already have an ESO-C themed profile picture.
Only joking. Keep up the good work. Also, is KSA meant to be Kansas? I'm not familiar with that abbreviation.
William, "cajun grilled pasta" sounds very strange to me. What exactly is that...?
