Mechanically Russia is easier, the batch feature helps a lot. Stylistically is perhaps a bit harder because you need to play macro style, producing stuff and leading the game to the point where you just autowin. Sometimes you need to avoid battles and buy time or stuff like that.
In any case Russia is like the 2nd choice for noobs when they start the game.

I really doubt that goodspeed would ever get back to his prime without significant personal investment, since his prime is like top 10 during TAD's prime. That level is too high to reach again.

He could still whip most people playing today if he just got back 50% of his former capacity.
