This whole page made me sad and disappointed.
I hope he's not quitting the game and community entirely.

Re: Bye Mancl :(
Anyone know why?
Re: Bye Mancl :(
Does anyone know what exactly happened? Did he delete all of his accounts?

I could see him quitting for that lol.
Re: Bye Mancl :(
That NPD is tough to treat, I guess.
Re: Bye Mancl :(
Why I dont know but for those struggling to figure out whats going on, he deleted his account on esoc.
Re: Bye Mancl :(
Well, not knowing whether this is true or not, I guess he's just tired? He put tremendous efforts (and had most likely hopes as much) in ESOC becoming the new, popular thing. I suppose he is also a bit disappointed with the result not being quite like what he might have imagined and pursued so intensely. Being (summa summarum) the best AoE3 player still around 10 years after launch and seeing your last points of interest not becoming real would be a perfectly understandable reason for me 'to quit' the game or at least the community.
While I'd appreciate if a legend like him would be around for longer I'm actually not that much into glorification and fatalism. His loss would be sad, but a community whose existence is so much dependent on a single person could hardly be called a community, right? There'll be a next best player and other people have filled other gaps in this community. Sorry, I feel a bit of sadness but not quite an imminent apocalypse..

I totally agree with this. I don't think it was necessary to just delete his account and wander off without any words of departure, however. I suppose he doesn't really owe us anything though

Yes, though he probably knows, he's one of the most famous player and also knows he has people supporting him. See zuta's example.

I don't know him well enough to nay say this, but I doubt that it's disappointment.
I'm not going to speculate in this thread, just gonna say I have a healthy amount of respect for all that he's done for ESOC and AoE3.

Everyone needs to move on sometime with his life. I wish Ryan the best of luck into pursuing new opportunities and hobbies and I hope we'll see him back sometime in the far future!
