Crap people this is not rocket science. Go play a QuickSearch game, resign immediately, and then check your game stats. Do the same for a hosted game. You will see that the QuickSearch game has been rated while the hosted game has not. Now play a hosted game and resign after two minutes. You will see that the hosted game has been rated. It doesn't matter if it's a team game or a 1v1, all hosted games are rated after two minutes. If anyone on a team resigns after two minutes the entire team gets a rated loss.

Or, you can read the rules on the matter posted by Microsoft:

Quick Search - games no longer follow the two minute resign rule and will count toward your rating as soon as they begin.

That statement alone tells you all you need to know about the rating scheme.

It was just patched actually. Games are no longer unrated under 2 minutes.

Since it's rated after 2min and you think you are losing and it's around 10min in it would be a good time for oos if you need that kind of thing on religious grounds.

Nothing was "just" patched to make games rated before two minutes. There has not been an official patch for years. Only QuickSearch games are rated immediately and this was done in a patch dating back to 2006. I gave you all the link to the patch notes above.

Really, is "rank" so important you guys that you can't test this for yourselves? Go host a game and then resign before two minutes. You will see a message saying "this game has not been rated." Do the same in a QuickSearch game and it will be rated.

2016 UPDATE:

No updates, games hosted via the game browser are still unrated within the first 2 minutes. However, (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe that games played via quicksearch are rated beginning at 00:00.

I think it depends on who you are playing with. Also how the game has been going. If you're playing osteoblaste and winning at the 30th minute game will most likely be unrated. Also same for a bloke named [redacted].
