How to herd
Always wondering how you should herd? Let me show you an example of the herding master himself. Meet Knuschelbar (no umlaut silly Asutrian ). See the picture attached.
Whether this is pure skills, hacks, or some unknown form of animal luring remains a guess. For now, we can only admire the pretty picture of about 15000 food in one screen.

Seems like only a recording would tell.
But that is really impressive.
..I'll just go tell my idle villagers to waste 25 seconds on the 2nd herd most of the time....

How back here for no reason? There is a reason ,u need to learn back here mechanics .For every animal there is diff mechanics so if u memorise all them u will be God.
Watch rikkikpu past broadcast in twitch he tested why backherds happens and explained it.

On a serious note, that happens when people want more hunts.

perhaps i should not make a joke about it to prevent misunderstandings. Ofc wasnt hacks, just him herding it there.

, if your herds are far away they can backherd because if you herd them towards you they will run "out of their standard circle" and then turn back at some point. Happens to the herds far away only though, but ye, a known issue on GP sometimes.milku wrote:notification

... well nice flame again. Sure usually you want it around your tc. However given the map and where the hunts come from, thats mostly not possible for all herds on this map. Since he has LOS from all around via tc market raxes etc, and that this is inside and close to his production buildings, its fine vs raids if you are playing aggressive anyway.umeu wrote:notification

, i never saw this never before on this map, so its probably more like a coincidence with the spawning and how he was able to herd. This map usually doesnt even have mass hunts (properly herdable like this that is, usually a bit further away)garja wrote:notification

Re: How to herd
Actually Adirondacks can easily have 3 herds of elk near the TC aka 30 bisons. It's disgusting if you ask me but people wanted it that way.

. Most ideal would be around tc. Given circumstances and the map this is still pretty fine. You have LOS from buildings around so can respond on time moving towards tc or army. Furthermore its very risky for opponent to raid in this specific center, since there are 3 production buildings + tc around that might trap youpecelot wrote:notification

Re: How to herd
2 idle vills (*) how did you get to RO32!?
Re: How to herd
I am good at my initial herding but as the game progresses and my APM is diverted to more important things I let my herds begin to slip away. Is it a good idea to go ahead and shoot animals down around my TC and have my vils spawn on them? Essentially I am letting my food decay a bit faster but as a result my vils are both safer and minimizing walk time.
Thoughts?
