why am I so bad?

So I played a game today against the asain guy who only plays japan and always lags. Today however, I noticed there wasnt really lag at the start of the game, so I figured I'd actually play him. I thought I played pretty well, but still ended up losing. I thought my bo was decent, my unit composition was decent.. I'm just wondering what I did wrong. I realized after that I forgot to get the 150 150 150 market upgrade and there where also a few times I cut vils, because I thought the game was about to be over. Game runs from about 1:15 to 27 or smt on this vid. It mostly just annoyed me cause I was try harding a bit and I dont think hes very good at all

will watch it as soon as i get home from uni, but i def. feel ya. in those situations i know i wasnt playing perfect, but at least decent and focussed - so i wonder what went wrong, especially if the opponent wasnt that much better in your own perception.

I don't play Japan so don't listen to me necessarily... but here are my comments.

1. Shrines on coin with vills on wood isn't optimal.
2. Your card order...? Not sure whether you skipped 600w because of the map, but you should probably still send it at least once. You were a tiny bit ahead eco wise but he had more mass in the first fight. You should be 200 shrine pop in mirrors tbh (maybe not on this map but still, higher than 110).
3. If you opponent is going yumi/nagi then you should probably go ashi/nagi, especially after you won the fight at 12ish. Ashi let you siege after to capitalise, and you can send some to raid too once you have the mass advantage.

lol i can tell you why you lost probably, but I will be redacted XD

anyway, at 1030 there was a fight you shouldve taken, you had like 15-20 yumi vs 15 yumi 10 ashi + daimyo. you wouldve won that hard but u backed off.

If you check elo, he randomly has 4 settlers in his eco. while he never took the nat tp to tech that.

All resources graph shows everything. You had more res still lost, means you messed up with micro.

Compositionally it's better, but there's gotta be a reason that pro jap mirrors are just pure ashi. From games I've seen it's because of siege.

On a level, though, it was just a nice example of two pro players going Yumi in a Jap mirror.

Tbh a part he's cheater, you can notice about your mistakes. You should always be ?/200pop . So make more shrines, also you can't stay age2 for so long time.

Lastly, sending 5 yumi at 12 min mark and then 15 min mark, is terrible. If you have nothing better to send, then try to age up. (20 min still age2 is terrible anyway)

I think on most of these bs re maps there are so little hunts that raiding the shrines with the faster ashis and trying to get the hunts under control is still better than yumi. On EP maps often both players can shrine up to like 170 pop or sth at which point yumis become better I guess.
