DotW: If you could change one thing
Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
filthy totw rip-off
Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
A 100% working anti-cheat system, that also comes with another tab like the "home cities" one that is "Cheater List" that tells you everyone who has tried to use or load the game with cheat files.
Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
If the cheat system is 100% working you dont need a blacklist
Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
Change the indian ele stomp so that it doesn't affect explorers. It's nasty when u get the cdb treasure but just by luck the ele stomps u and he gets it

in that case allow indian explorers to gather treasures at the same speed. because they loose if timed the same.

indian monks seem to be slower in the animation that allows them to pick up treasures. so if you click on it at the same time they always lose collecting the treasure.
Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
It doesn't matter how long the animation lasts, it's only relevant who started it first.

Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
i dunno, how do you verify that? i see so many times i get it stolen cause of ele slowness, but when i use a vil they seem to be even faster than explorers. I guess I need to do some official test or see some stats

Just give some 0,x multiplier to the warships broadside attack vs artillery. And one problem already solved where you cant go even close to warships on land...

My Dutch Connexxions inform me he has died of acute AIDS. They say Mankl the Mad sent flowers for his mausoleum.Buckethead wrote:britishmusketeer wrote:Show hidden quotes
I don't know how to make it. I am commenting based on another thread where apparently icourt knew how to do it.
He said (ep internal forum) that he thinks this is possible because AOM have random civ selection but he have no idea how to implement that.
We lose contact with him, rip random civ.

Oh, you do!?Mitoe wrote:I think one of the best things about AoE3 is the way the homecity, consulate, firepit, wonder & politician, and trading post mechanics work. They add a lot of strategic depth to the game since they force you to make decisions where you sacrifice one kind of advantage for another. This gives you a lot of different ways to augment whatever kind of strategy you want to do, but you always have to weigh the pros and cons. Whether you send vills or units, or choose to age with a Karni Mata instead of an Agra Fort, or ally with the French instead of the British, I think these mechanics add a lot to the game.
If I could change anything about the game I would try to make these decisions less obvious by buffing/nerfing the stronger and weaker options, and I would also try to include more of this sort of thing into the game. For example, I think things like European politicians are quite bland compared to TWC/TAD options, and things like the church and livestock have a lot of potential that wasn't really put to good use.

Why indeed...kami_ryu wrote:Aren't you guys maintaining a third-party balance patch? Why not push for those changes in that patch?
All the major game devs for the top esports titles are doing it. League, Starcraft 2, etc. So why not ESOC?

Their animation is exactly as long as for other explorers

As basically every explorer's animation lasts the same amount of time.

Turn rate varies though which matters.

Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
im still convinced some factor like turn rate or whatever makes indian explorers gather slow.
Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
Well, turn rate is a factor i think. at least it seems that the sioux explorer has an advantage because he turns faster.

well that would make sense since i feel like sioux explorer is really good to catch treasures with.

Re: DotW: If you could change one thing
Turn rate definitely matters. Proof of this is that the Sioux explorer gives itself a +10% speed boost which also affects turn rate, which is why it picks up treasures slightly faster than all of the other civs.

Lack of resources and time, mostly. The more you change, the more you have to play test and the longer it takes to put out a new patch. Unfortunately all those entities listed above have much more available in both categories than the normie volunteers at ESOC. Not to mention, the sheer difficulty it would take to actually balance those lesser used avenues in the game due to the complexity of aoe in its nature compared to other games like sc2 and league.
