Well the more I played otto, the more I saw they weren't that strong. The more I play germany or brit, the more I see they are a really strong civ.
However if you take into account that on RE you have sometimes bad maps, then otto becomes really strong

yeah otto is weak and hard to play, just gotta practice more because jan rush or jan abus or ff make jans is not just a build order, it's art

I mean abus is the most annoying unit ever to deal with, though I'd still rate them rather equally.

On the Aoe3 simple elo ladder 1v1 civ cross table overall winrates 2010-2013 the win rate top 5 for x<pr29 and x>pr29 are as follows-

x<pr29 India ties Iro 56.21%, Otto 54.99% , China 52.97%, Russia ties aztec 51.96%

x>pr29 India 57%, Iro 56.56%, Otto 53.80%, China 53.07%, Sioux 52.48%

worst MU x<pr29 36.76% Spain vs Otto (wardog/mm fbv's IMO) x>pr29 30.24% Ports vs Japs

I know this isn't perfect because tp/non tp maps etc. but it is an average across millions of games nonetheless- interestingly Sioux beats Otto 1v1 by 53%+ in both pr levels.

The more I play against otto (and even as otto), the more I start to think that Otto FF is actually stronger than Jan abus in a variety of match ups. On a random RE QS map there are too many maps with water or no TPs, and quite a few maps with shitty TP lines. Depending on the TP line I'd definitely rate otto as extremely strong though. I suppose iro performs a bit better on the variety of the match ups, although iro too suffers from no TP maps.

Otto is actually really good vs water tbh.

I have never known whether otto FF is better than jan abus or not, both are just so strong (on re maps at least). I feel otto ff might be more effective on esoc maps since it is harder to starve out with jan abus though
