[RE] Two Dutch vs Japan recs
Yeah Dutch win both of them I know you don't wanna see recs the Japan reks Dutch
THE FALLEN GOD, aka forjustice, said that Japan doesnt really counter Dutch in RE. I don't agree and we played a game and I lost Haven't beat him for about 1 year
Then I met another Chinese player in qs, and win
My question:
Dutch can delay Japan's shrine boom with a few pikes/hussar. But building 3-4 banks makes their semiff very slow (no earlier than 9:00), and if Japan decides to play age 2 with ashi/nagi, Dutch will have problem dealing this with a few hussar/pike/skirm. Should I just go 4bank age up instead of trying to kill more shrines? Or should I build only 2-3 bank for a faster aging up?

Imo you play colonial and try to contain the shrine boom with a few pikes. If you get a good enough advantage you may ageup. If they turtle I guess its fine to ageup to get better units/cannons.

Just feel that civs that have efficient ranged infantry(RI)(Aztec, British debatably, Dutch, russia, otto) in age 2 and an early age up time do well in age 2 play vs civs that have strong muskets(India, Japan, Otto).If I'm not wrong Dutch also has access to grenadiers for extra siege.Is there a possibility for a colonial timing by Dutch(somewhat similar to British) against Japan combined with booming and sieging?The only thing Dutch has to take care of is the anticav which extra Hussars can help.I find it hard to categorize Dutch as a boomy civ or an FFing civ.It seems like they're a bit of both.

700 600w ignore shrines, build a big army, train falcs aswell, siege shrines and hit a 12 min timing

i think dutch win tbh, outmass in skirm early game after making 5 pikes, then age once youve done some damage and add huss and falcs

Dutch can even make a few skirms in colonial as well to idle vills and kill any units that might try to kill your pikes. In that case I would see you going for a slower 4 bank semi-ff with maybe like 700w-bank wagon-600w-700f/700c. You might even be able to do 8 pikes for your fourth or fifth card instead of the crates.
