Yeah, but it is too easy. Boring. AoE betting is much more intense.

To broke betters: You are broke no more, as everyone has been given +500 points! I don't know how this happened, possibly our benevolent betting Gods deemed it fair and just to give us all another chance. Grab it with both hands!

And damn people that was a great round of 16! A bunch of sweeps but some great series too and a ton of crazy wins and losses in betting. The Spring record for most points won lasted surprisingly short, DaRkNiTe1698 broke it winning 14264 off a very nice bet on Stanley_Winston 3-2 KINGofOsmane, a rather unexpected result with odds as high as 14.26. Speaking of DaRkNiTe1698, he just came out of nowhere and made us all look like a bunch of fools. Throughout the round of 16 he won close to 20000 points, moving from 7th place all the way to 1st and with a 90% consistency score his bets are looking frighteningly accurate. Roiarthurbis, now in second place, also did very well and Gendarme, who just a few matches ago was more than 12000 points ahead of second place, is now in third and probably crying himself to sleep every night; I suppose his 11000 point loss when Stanley beat KING didn't help there. Game 5 of that series was the difference between DaRkNiTe1698 losing 2000 or winning 14000, and the difference between Gendarme losing 11000 or winning 1000. Combined, that adds up to a 28000 point swing between these two betters. Whoops. A dazzling number even for betting. Grats to DaRkNiTe1698 and roiarthurbis for a round of 16 well bet! To be fair, Gendarme's 10000 point bets in uncertain series were probably bound to backfire at some point. For example when Mitoe 3-2 Fourmaster he was at risk of losing 13000, but barely pulled through.

The top 4 is close together now, relatively anyway, so the round of 8 should be interesting. Yes DaRkNiTe1698 is looking good, but he is 'only' 7000 points ahead of 4th. History shows that getting to first place is one thing, but staying there is something else entirely.
After 4th place the gap is big, but really anything can happen as I'm sure we all know by now. Well placed gambles have previously won the betting event as late as in the finals. Just look at last event, when umeu was 25000 points ahead of Jerom before the semi-finals, and ended up 13000 points behind him when all was said and done. I don't know about y'all but I'm looking forward to the rest of this!

Bets have been opened for the round of 8. For scheduling information refer to your player sheets. Remember it's now best of 7!

Records after the round of 16
Most points won in a single match: DaRkNiTe1698 (Stanley_Winston 3-2 KINGofOsmane) - 14264 points
Most unexpected result: Stanley_Winston 3-2 KINGofOsmane - odds 14.26
Most points bet on a single match: Kaiserklein vs IAmSoldieR - 50173 points
Most points bet by a player (total): Gendarme - 127468 points
Most consistent winner: DaRkNiTe1698 - 90% (9/10 wins)

But... the series were not uncertain. @KINGofOsmane was supposed to win 3-0.

If Knusch has over 1.25 odds, you probably made a way better deal.

Entering the round of 8 we had DaRkNiTe1698 AKA Marco1698 in first, relatively closely followed by the rest of the top 4. It was never likely that this top 4 would remain unchanged, and indeed it did not. In fact, it pretty much reversed. Poor DaRkNiTe1698 lost 8000 points betting on snowww in his series against Mitoe, and then another 10000 betting on Knuschelbär in his series against Kaiserklein. Unlucky. He's now sitting in 9th place, his coffers all but emptied.
Gendarme, a man not unknown to that sought-after first place, had an interesting run this round. It started off great when he broke the record for most points won in a single match, winning 16900 points betting on Mitoe. 11000 points ahead of second place, the victory was again in his grasp. However, like DaRkNiTe1698 he bet his money on Knuschelbär taking down Kaiserklein and was disappointed. Losing 14000 points, effectively undoing his earlier massive win, he now sits in third place.

The real winners this round were roiarthurbis, winning 7000 points and keeping his second place, and most notably britishmusketeer. This is also a man not unknown to being at the top of the standings, having had decent success in previous betting events. He hasn't won one yet, but perhaps this is his time. Coming from 4th place before the round of 8 started, he doubled his point total with big wins in both the Mitoe and the Kaiserklein series and is now in first with 35659 points, about 6000 ahead of roiarthurbis. Well played and good luck holding onto that spot!

Meanwhile, lurking in the shadows (5th place) we find a name that must surely have britishmusketeer sweating his balls off. Zoom is on the way up. Don't be surprised, betters, when he inevitably catches us all with our pants down and genitalia in hand, scoops up massive wins in the 3 remaining series and laughs his way to first place. We might as well give him the prize money right now.

Bets have been opened for the round of 4. Currently it looks like both matches will be played not this weekend but next one due to scheduling issues.

Records after the round of 8
Most points won in a single match: Gendarme (Mitoe 4-1 snowww) - 16900 points
Most unexpected result: Stanley_Winston 3-2 KINGofOsmane - odds 14.26
Most points bet on a single match: Mitoe vs snowww - 80005 points
Most points bet by a player (total): Gendarme - 156868 points
Most consistent winner: aligator92 - 81% (17/21 wins)
