I have a question. Why are there still mass sprints? If you see this you realize how shitty mass sprints are.

Why? The idea of a sport is that you need to have a specific type of body to even be good at it in the first place. Besides, the amount of mass sprints are absolutely disproportionate, a style like the Giro or Vuelta would be so much better.

I actually kind of like that in cycling you can be any body shape and still reach the top as a climber, sprinter, time trialler, cobbler, puncheur or w/e etc I don't think any other sport has that?

Ye the TDF is often sprint heavy in the first week. The 2015 route had a well designed first week though, 2016 not so much. DW Jerom the mountains will come

Nearly always a breakaway wins on a day like this. Hopefully we see some GC action also. Could be an insane stage or just a let down, really depends if there is a team that wants to cause some havoc.

Nah its for sure steep enough to break it up if someone or a team wants to break it up. I'm just not sure anyone will though since its only stage 5. FDJ or Astana might try and put Contador under pressure today though to knock him off the podium for good.

hmm it depends on how sky does , last year if movistar made a serius atack on sky quintana would have won , quintana is in better shape than froome and so is aru , but astana didn't look good as a team

So far it's looking like a Froome vs Quintana showdown but neither have really shown they are the strongest yet so expect one of them to be in Yellow.
Cavendish is crushing the sprints so far so he's a good bet to win in Paris.

Nah Froome has always been a pretty good descender though he has gotten a bit better.

People just like to say he has bad bike handling as it's a common insult and people like to hate him so everyone started believing it was true but the guy is a former MTBer, he's a better descender than 99% of the riders in the peloton.
