Re: Question about USA conventions
Pretty much, but I think that's how conventions in most countries work, the only exception being a smaller scale.
Re: Question about USA conventions
American politics is just a huge circlejerk. Both parties seek to enhance liberty without questioning whether their understanding of liberty is correct.

Re: Question about USA conventions
they serve the purpose as huge pep rally for the election campaign. except this year they are rally divided and even call it the Demexit! Oh an Bernie left the party and is now an independent.
Re: Question about USA conventions
Wasn't he already independent but just invited to take part in the Democrats' convention?

Re: Question about USA conventions
from what i understand he was elected into the senate as an independent then switch to being a democrat to run for pres. he had to endorse Clinton to be allowed at the convention. then the fraud exposed so he now left to be independent again.
Re: Question about USA conventions
The only purpose of the convention used to be for the up and comer of the party to launch themselves into the spotlight on the big stage (ie Obama in 2004) or to dispute the nominee (Republican convention should have been this year). Otherwise its a circle jerk.
mad cuz bad
Re: Question about USA conventions
It's a good way to get everyone fired up, and rally party around its nominee. As we saw at both conventions this year, it is also a time at which the nominee can try to reach out to the followers of their defeated rivals.

What he means is you never back anything up with ideas... why can we not risk a clinton presidency? why should trump the the alternative? without expressing ideas with some kind of logic to back them up is not going to motivate anyone. therefor unappealing.

If you don't know what Clinton has in store for you, you probably also think that man actually landed on the moon.

blah blah blah.... you never defend your ideas.... exactly why so unappealing to hear you say things. Done perfectly well like a politician.... saying people aught to know etc... just makes it look like you don't even know why you are saying such things.
