It is highly unlikely that I am available tomorrow now since you never responded and now i have to work.
I can play Sunday between 15-21 GMT. I would prefer to not start during the Finals but if that is the only time that works, I guess I can watch while playing.

Hello everyone,

The tournament admins have reviewed this case thoroughly, and after deliberating have decided to advance @n0el over @iamturk in this match. This decision was agreed upon on 2017-06-15 23:18 GMT by tournament admin @Vinyanyérë and incoming admin @JakeyBoyTH.

This was not an easy decision to make, as one of the primary goals of the 2nd Chance Tournament is to see as many games played as possible, even at the cost of some delay to the schedule. However, as Ro8 matches are already underway, we decided that it would be necessary to ensure that any matches that were behind were behind by no more than one round.

We decided to advance n0el over iamturk due to his greater consistency in scheduling. More specifically:

- n0el was first to begin scheduling.
- iamturk was promptly able to respond to the initial scheduling effort by n0el. N0el took about 53 hours to respond to this, which is longer than the appropriate response time of 24 hours, but before the scheduled time to play. By June 3 14 GMT, both players had indicated that they could play on June 4 14 GMT.
- iamturk asked for a change to the agreed upon time on June 3 17 GMT, and asked for the time to be changed to June 3. This was at 20:00 in Turkey and 12:00 U.S. Central Time (n0el’s timezone). n0el responded 5 and a half hours later with an affirmative, although the day had changed by this point in Turkey.
- On June 4, n0el posted at 17 GMT that he was available for the remainder of the day. Iamturk did not respond until the next day.

The following is my analysis of the scheduling attempts during this period:

n0el’s large amount of time taken to respond to iamturk was a major factor in iamturk’s plans changing for what would previously have been an agreed upon day. This favors iamturk, although n0el was accomodating for this and was able to play during a substantially large amount of time during the weekend.

- On June 5, both iamturk and n0el made an effort to schedule. n0el made the better scheduling effort here, as he offered multiple days rather than just one.

- iamturk made no scheduling effort until June 9 15 GMT. This is the main factor in our decision to advance n0el.

- iamturk offered June 10 15 GMT. n0el responded that this was unlikely but later responded that this was possible. However, at the time of his reply the timezone difference between n0el and iamturk led to confusion over the day that the players were referring to. N0el was referring to June 10 15 GMT, and iamturk referring to June 11 15 GMT. Iamturk spent a substantial portion of June 10 (a Saturday) without a response to n0el, giving no response until 16:00 FET (local time in Turkey). Within 30 minutes of iamturk’s response, n0el recognized the confusion and clarified the situation. Iamturk made no response until June 16, by which point we had already made a decision.

My analysis of that period:

n0el was substantially better at scheduling during this time, as iamturk left a three day gap that require n0el to ping him again with a notification. Although both players should have been careful to avoid confusion with timezones, n0el made greater effort to clarifying this confusion.

Overall, we found n0el’s scheduling efforts to be lacking, but iamturk’s scheduling to be worse. We have thus decided to advance n0el to the Round of 16.

We apologize for the delay in announcing this decision and to iamturk for the decision, which was difficult to make.
