Let alone do externally while behind a proxy in the first place.

Why would you not be allowed to say?
unprofessional
it would also give the perpetrator the attention he's desperate for

yep. better just deal with it in the tech side of the site, no need to bring atention to the person.
Yeah I wouldn't worry about the DDOS as a community. We have faced similar problems over the past two years and will continue to do our best to handle them.
It's unfortunate because it takes away time from cool things we are doing, but we have to handle security.

Why would you not be allowed to say?
Because it doesn't help us with anything. If anything it makes us look just as bad. We at ESOC strive to host tournaments and continue to be a hub for the community. We have no desire to publicly shame anyone, regardless of the situation.

That's fine and all, but whom do we pitch with our forks?

Nothing was bragged about; Neurouga was automatically presumed guilty.

No anyone can do them really. I've been behind some before.

DDOS attacks, which are Distributed DOS attacks, can be bought, where you basically hire a botnet to work for you.
You can also buy DOS attack I assume, but this is also something most script kiddies can do themselves.
I do think the community has the right to name and shame.
