Round of 8 action tonight
Round of 8 action tonight
EDIT: Sorry everyone the Mitoe vs Sam match is next week (22-8)! [strike]This weekend[/strike], we have four top 10 players facing each other in best of 7 series, and its only the round of 8. Thats how stacked this tournament is. We may be missing some players, but theres still plenty of strong participants in this event and they are motivated to win it. Today, get ready for a close fight starting 17:00 GMT at the ESOCTV twitch channel.
[div style="text-align:center'"]Blackstar_OP vs MusketJr - Friday 17:00 GMT
[div style="text-align:left'"]Musket, who is still trolling me with his ESO name (BadSpeed), is one of the more underrated players in AoE. Having choked in, or not taking seriously the previous tournament some people may have thought Somppu would beat him but he won that series 3-1, and has been practicing more since then. This is a man with proven solid mechanics, and a lot of history in AoE3 which means he understands the game better than most.
But the Spring Champion, Blackstar_OP, proved last event that his understanding of this game is unparalleled. He pulled out innovative builds, impeccable decision making and civs other players had overlooked and he backed it up with top notch mechanics. It will come as no surprise to anyone that he is the undisputed best player at the moment, meaning Musket is in for a tough match. But Musket is not one to underestimate either, I foresee favourable odds on all results where he wins!
[div style="text-align:center'"]Samwise12 vs Mitoe - Saturday next week 19:00 GMT
[div style="text-align:left'"]Then theres Sam vs Mitoe, another one for the ages. Sam of course is making a comeback, and he is showing strength by convincingly beating Prince in the round of 16 where he showed weakness in the round before that. Considering this round, too, will likely be mostly mirrors which is where Sam excells, he should be feeling comfortable.
But Mitoe, much like Musket, is an underrated player. Not having shown results in previous events, people tend to overlook him but in practice games he rarely loses and he wiped the floor with SoldieR 3-0 in the round of 16. Expect favourable odds for the results where he wins.
Both players have shown strength in the previous round, and both players have something to prove: Does Sam still have what it takes to be #1? Can Mitoe finally reach a tournament result that reflects his skill? Well find out![/div][/div][/div][/div]

if eso is still down will they play in gameranger ?

me vs mitoe has been moved to next Saturday at 19 GMT, since Mitoe has to work tonight and we wouldnt have time to fit all the games in. Also if ESO is down, yes they will use gameranger.

Wow, nice matches on the line! I was convinced by the play of Musket and Mitoe that they could reach high places in the tournament, now they have to face two favourites... HYPE!
