Update on ASC Winter
Update on ASC Winter
Hey guys! Just a quick update on the Winter Championship.
Signups have been pushed back one more week, and will continue until December 13. We've had to do this because we made a small mistake (yes, EVEN we make mistakes sometimes): forgetting to write the rules. Those are currently being finalized and will be up shortly and once they are complete you may read them here: http://eso-community.net/viewforum.php?f=111.
While we're doing that, however, I'll just let you know that the Group Stage will be played on Hudson Bay, so if you're looking to get in some practice before the tournament gets rolling, now's your chance! If you don't have the map yet, you can download it (and other ESOC maps) here: Official ESOC Maps. And to install, simply extract the contents of the folder to "Documents/My Games/Age of Empires 3/RM3":

Sign-ups should be open again.
Re: Update on ASC Winter
i suggest that the group stage shoild be bo3.
bo1 is too risky for everyone. make one mistake and bye bye.
though group stage games won't influence the final games much, we should give every player a better experience.

also, the main problem is to find a time for both players online, not the games itself. even a bo3 wont last for 1 hour.

Completely agree.
Re: Update on ASC Winter
In my opinion it's ok bo1 tbh, since you can win the other players of the same group to pass in the next stage
Re: Update on ASC Winter
More fun to play bo3 because more games.
Re: Update on ASC Winter
BO1 is okay for groups, but BO3 is better IMO.

a big +1 for BO3, just going to be more interesting for both the players and potential viewers I'd say

Re: Update on ASC Winter
BO3 FOR THE BLOOD GOD. MANKL DEMANDS IT!!
Re: Update on ASC Winter
bo3 please
cater towards the players who will play things out, rather than those who signed up and won't show up. i understand that bo1 is faster to go through, but we want decent qualifiers ):

Yeah bo3 more fun. I think in the qualifiers the main concern is that the lower level players get the feeling of competition and have fun playing as many games as possible.

Re: Update on ASC Winter
We only need 2 sign ups more to reach 150!! Overall I don't think we did bad here. I mean, the spring championships had like the same amount, right?

Re: Update on ASC Winter
The "problem" is that you need to have EP to play in the tourney.
How many people did install EP? I highly doubt that there are 256 people playing on EP now; correct me if I am wrong

Re: Update on ASC Winter
