Autumn Tournament Continues with RO128!

Post by musketeer925 »

Schedule and play your games for the RO128 if you've made it through the group stage! RO128 ends Sunday, and then we'll be moving on to RO64. Submit results with the submission tool.

Get hyped for streams on Saturday and Sunday (tentative schedule here). Which of these Group Stage underdogs are going to beat _H2O this season?

Update: Due to the lack of completed games in RO128, we have extended the deadline for RO128 matches until next Sunday, October 2. Please schedule, play, and submit your games by this date or you risk disqualification.

If i look to the elimination bracket, almost everyone must still complete RO128, is that correct? I stay tuned for the stream/rec's XD

hes kinda right if you start extending for ro 128 already whats gonna happen in ro 64 and further ? Again like 2 or 3 week extensions which will mean that this tourney will take 2 months like last one.

I think the decision was made here as it kinda started later than intended and the deadline wasn't well published by the ESOC team. As the tournament continues, the remaining players will be fewer and more committed and have less trouble finishing rounds on time.

I think after this round there will be no more extensions.

Exactly, less players --> less matches --> less scheduling issues.

This round exists of 32 matches (RO128: half filled, so 64 players, 32 matches). Next round (RO64) will have 32 matches as well (top 32 comes in + 32 left from RO128, so 64 players which means 32 matches). Then it will be less every week again.

There wasnt much time for this round, which is arguably one of the most fun rounds for the community. I think the problem, if there is one right now, is with the group stages which tend to have very few games played out.

I think being lenient with the earlier stages makes more sense than later. After all, there's a lot more players and greater benefit to be had.
