welcome still though
i really want to find people who bought the game very recently
To be honest I don't think a lot of people who just bought the game will be looking for "Age of Empires 3 forum". And even then we are the 7th result
I have us at 5th when I do that but it's probably taking into consideration the amount of history I have on here.
The first two hits are the official forums, then heaven games, steam, then us. That's slightly disappointing.
On the other hand "UI 2.2" gets us the third hit. Pro tip to all the other people who constantly install/uninstall aiz's UI like me.
Lastly, I wonder how google's algorithm works. If Jerom edits his signature for all 10k of his posts to "Age of Empires 3 Forum" I wonder if that would change anything..
I think the "problem" is that most people search for an Age of Empires forum and not for an Ensemble Studios Online forum.
In addition to that, you only find "Elder Scrolls Online" when searching for ESO forum.

Re: The Road Ahead
Yeah to be honest when this name was chosen it was really only for 1 tournament on some crappy website/forum (no offense, but it has improved a lot since then). We had no idea it would turn out to be the best AoE3 forum out there. :p
I am always having a laugh when people PM me about Elder Scrolls stuff though

However, I think that changing the name now might be problematic.

More importantly, did you buy the game from the last Steam sale? Are you a new player?
Welcome
He has AoE3 since 2008 so no, not from the last Steam sale
Yes I've had aoe 3 for a long time. Thanks for pointing this out Ede :)
I am just new to this website.

Right changing the name right now is obviously not up for discussion, but it's something fun to talk about anyways. I personally propose changing it to CotF (mac noobs represent).
And yeah I was here at its conception, the website was the same name, made for the ASC (aoe spring championship) tourney.
Pecelot, lemmings, and I all sort of hang around /r/aoe3 too and answer questions/redirect here. Musketeer925 too he is a moderator there after all. I know personally Reddit is my first choice to look up a recent hobby/game.
Aoe is so old and eso a bit buggy that there are a lot of questions about general tech support, like ftj, game key not working, etc that I don't have the knowledge to help. That might be one of the biggest turn offs for new players :(
