Dark mode theme

Post by Dolan »

I think it'd be a great idea to have a site theme that can be used while reading at night or late.

@Ashvin It's an issue only on my phone.

@I_HaRRiiSoN_I I like to check the forums every single time I wake up in the middle of the night so I don't miss posts that people delete

tbh I don't think devs will work on this. The forum part is mostly done by bucket who is living off the grid for months.

Phone browsers now have dark mode. At least decent browsers like Chrome, which has a kind of adaptive dark mode that doesn't turn everything into dark grey, but uses colours from the site scheme.
Get a good browser and stop being a nub.

To be fair, ESOC colors are already very yellowish, which isn't bad for reading at night. Never really had any troubles when also putting my phone in night mode and lowering its brightness.

There was a recent study that said the night mode filter doesn't actually do anything

I have that on because I prefer the slightly dimmer colors at night. I don't care about its effects on sleep, I sleep poorly anyways.

Source? From what I know the build-in filters work really well, maybe those third-party apps don't.
