Site Feature Changelog

I'll use this thread to post updates about changes and improvements made to the site, for the sake of transparency and just for your information.

For the first update, I'd like to announce a slightly revamped homepage:

index.php

It now shows the 3 latest news posts (automatically, while before we were editing this manually) and I wrote active threads and my threads sections. (Desktop site only, for now.)

Chatbox is now available on desktop site. It's connected to the twitch channel, so might be pretty busy during streams.

Can you add a chat function for the mobile page?

"Active topics" section from the homepage is now available on mobile (via another page):

Hey, it might be a consideration to remove unread posts then. Or even better, allow forum users to somewhat personalize it by hiding some of the functionality in the bar. For example, I'm not planning to use both active and unread posts.

Okay. I might see if I can make it an option, as I don't want to remove anything because someone probably uses those.

I've disabled the integrated chat feature for now, since it's both broken and we have the discord server.

This is what it looked like earlier but for some reason now it looks good. Don't know if you changed anything or. . .

I had that issue for about 5 minutes before fixing it (and prior to posting here, iirc). Perhaps you caught it at the wrong time? I'll keep an eye on it to ensure it's not recurring. Let me know if you see it again.

Wanted to let you all know that notifications should no longer take to you the homepage on mobile. Let me know if you continue to experience that.

Was it the thing that I tipped you with the specific area to click on or was I completely wrong and did you figure it out yourself?

Made a basic welcome box that shows up if users are not logged in:

And the title of that box links to here, with incog's full text, which I thought might be a little long for the welcome box:
aboutesoc.php

Needs some more styling (plan to make those links into actual button-type things) and I think in the future I might also make it so it displays for accounts that are less than 30 days old as well (minus the registration button of course).

Minor bug fix, fixed Elo search button being pushed onto the next line in some browsers.

Also fixed a bug where where Elo's were truncated to too few decimals when they ended with a 0.

Polls should now be a bit more clear, and display the result bars more accurately as percentages.

Also fixed a bug where you couldn't see the results directly after submitting your vote or pressing "view results". You had to update to see the result bars, but this should not be needed anymore.

Some fine tuning for mobile will be done. If you see strange things in any browser, feel free to let us know here
