We have now gathered related things on separate pages. But why?

Easier to maintain for everyone, and less clutter in the sidebar. You can now much faster see the important links, and we can hopefully (in the long run) keep higher quality content on these fewer pages.

ESOC Patch:
This page will improve over time. We want to keep only one page with all info you need about the patch. This will make it much easier for all of us to keep it up-to-date and high quality. (we will get there)

ESOC maps
Two reasons. Curious people can see a nice map list. And we give some credit to our fantastic map makers.

Tournaments
We've always been struggling to find that one tournament last year haven't we? Well good news, they should all be in one place now. Including links to brackets and their forum overview

Community links
It makes no sense to have these in the sidebar wasting space. Better to gather more links and have a real nice list instead. Do you have some links you want to see here? Let us know.

Beautiful, beautiful work. Thank you so much

tournaments.php

Fucking literally so clean, hnnnnnnnng

(edit: maybe just capitalize the "m" in maps?)

Fixed notifications layout and actions.
When you click on a notification it will now be marked as read

Haha, it was pretty painful to deal with each time, thanks!

- A new button has been added in the notifications, clicking on it the notification will be marked as read without changing the current page.
- You will now be able to see notifications on your phone like you see on desktop.

If you find any issue please let me know.

Several changes have been made in the forum, most of the changes you will not realize but if you find any issue let me know.

Some changes that you will notice:
- Removed user mention temporarily.
- Improved tournament brackets
- Fixed 'Scroll-to-top button not showing in logged out mode'

Pushed a couple of changes to the web services backend:

  • Improved error handling on event signup page, user should always receive some sort of response message when attempting to sign up.
  • Fixed connection leaks on event signup page, which occasionally exhausted the database connection pool and caused both web services and the forum to be temporarily inaccessible.
  • Now able to parse ratings of players who are only playing either 1v1 or team games exclusively. @crjensen4

Also made some internal changes to improve logging and to make local testing of web services easier for developers.

I notice that "search" is now on the right end of top task bar. I got really used to clicking "unread posts" since that's was its old position. It's also a position which makes sense if you want to browse recent posts. Search is much less used as a feature than that (at least for me personally, perhaps not everyone). Just wanted to throw that out there.

Well I don't really see a problem here, "Unread posts" remains in the same position while "Search" was added as a new item.

List of all changes since last post (previous changelog lost during The Great Data Loss Incident):

  • Redesigned team page: http://eso-community.net/memberlist.php?mode=team
  • Added Search to the top bar.
  • Fixed displaying/updating brackets in general.
  • Fixed EP download link.
  • Event signup notification bar will now automatically appear when any event signups are active.
  • Implemented OpenGraph thumbnail image (this means linking to ESOC will now display a nice logo for example on Reddit or Skype).
  • Fixed Match Submitter Tool rec uploading in general and posting groupstage matches correctly. The tool will now also put results inside a spoiler tag automatically.
  • Added Iowa map image to http://eso-community.net/maps.php

I'm sure this question has been asked before but is there a way to make all posts go from unread to read.

I only get notifications on the first "like" on a post of mine. Any likes after that and I get no notification. Is it just me?

The first iteration of MyESOC is now available:

my-esoc.php

Image

It gives an overview of your upcoming tournament games. The blue/red bar shows leans one way or the other depending on who has the higher Elo. The Elo ratings displayed in the bar are the ones we have recorded from the start of the tournament, and are the ones used in deciding who gets the veto. Maps are grayed out if they have been vetoed in the thread. It expects someone to say "veto [mapname]" in the thread, so it might misread someone. Also note that this tool does not currently verify that vetoes are in the correct order or a player hasn't vetoed more maps than they are supposed to. Check with an admin if you're not sure if it's displaying your map pool right. Let us know if you're having trouble with it.

This overview is, of course, dependent on our internal tournament database to get data. So if you're expecting to see a game here and it's not, its probably because someone (maybe you!) didn't submit recorded games for a previous game, and the brackets are therefore not up to date. We've got some other stuff in the works to help mitigate this non-submission issue.

We will be doing more with this in the future to help further automate running tournaments and streamline things for both players and the staff. Please let us know if you have suggestions!
