Can the icon at least be changed to something which looks better?


Something like a plus sign in a circle would look a little better, the thumbs up is just a little obnoxious and breaks the pattern with the other buttons. ^^

I mean might as well give it a shot. It's a neat little feature that I'm enjoying right now. It's not like it will have any huge bearing on the content of the site or the direction moving forward, so I'm cool with it. 8)

Hate it. The reason behind a forum is to discuss, not to give simple likes. There's still the +1

I understand the idea but basically it's more interesting to have people say why they like / agree a post rather than just "like" it.

Regarding your recent posts in the "add a like AND a dislike button" thread, I have decided to bestow upon your posts, Misters CuCkO0 and Soldier, this well deserved "Plus one". Indeed, I do believe that the overall quality of forum-going discussion is improved without the usage of simple addition and subtractions to convey agreement of disagreement. I quite believe that if you do not feel strongly enough about something which has been said enough to write a paragraph (or two) about it, then you should not agree in the first place.

I'm not sure if I already posted in this thread or just talked about it in a skype group in 2015 but I detest any sort of like/dislike feature, because it promotes likewhoring and saying what others want to hear rather than your own views. This completely kills off the purpose of a forum: discussions. Dislikes sound nice in theory but in reality lesser liked users (and yes, they definitely exist on here) will just get their posts nuked.
