I think we should also add flags for cities, like Belgium for example...

These Europeans need to learn how to recognize state flags!
Not really.
I think I know like 3 state flags myself. I only know mine because I see it all the time

Most of the state flags, save alaska and california are just kinda stupid. Even my home state, massachusetts, has a pretty bland flag.

Re: state flags in addition to country ones
The pennsylvania crest is pretty awesome, but it would be so hard to see in the tiny little icon. I think that goes for most state flags. Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Utah etc the list goes on.

Maryland has a nice state flag, for example.

I demand that not only state flags are being added but also city and family emblems.

Re: state flags in addition to country ones
Seriously guys this is such an utterly unnecessary feature. The country flags were easy to add because there's a nice downloadable, free-to-use set of matching small bitmap flags. That set did not include states or cities.
With bitmaps as small as these, making additional ones is a lot more work than simply resizing an image of the full size flag, because certain elements need size ratios changed to keep the flag recognizable with so few pixels to work with. This is simply not going to happen. It's an incredible amount of work.
I personally think it's insane that there are three pages of discussion about it.

Ye well somebody should put the work into it because people want to see those flags represented.

Re: state flags in addition to country ones
To be honest I believe we should be able to have flags based on our race or gender.
I do not see an Attack Helicopter option, which truly makes my blood boil...

This community is truly partisan and once again it makes my blood ABSOLUTELY boil to the degree of an Attack Helicopter under some extremely hot fire ;(
Please get your act together ESOC Team </3

To elaborate, the dev team does a lot of work for ESOC. Not all of this work is necessarily visible to the average user, but the dev team is probably the most productive out of all of the teams in terms of delivered results. This feature is a lot of work for relatively marginal payoff, which puts it very low on the dev team's priorities. On the other hand, this feature is very easy for someone not on the dev team to do because it is extremely modular in nature, meaning that anyone who wants to see this implemented would be better off doing it themselves. I'm sure that whoever did it would be a strong candidate for a potential addition to the dev team, which in turn would absolutely pique the interest of the Community team, for anyone who was looking to become a member of that.
