Why doesn't esoc have sections on the forums for different languages? It seems like this is having us miss out on getting a chunk of the players here. Imagine if we had a german, spanish etc section? especially if we had a Japanese section where we got that part of the aoe3 community involved here. Each different language section would have a mod or 2 that just moderate their language section.

WHAT does check your stove means? And how do you do it?

Re: multinational
Sounds like it could work, we could even have a separate section for all the people who speak/write in broken English!

Re: multinational
With already less number on ESOC this will divide people from interacting with each other. imo the present scenario is the best we can have.

Re: multinational
how would it divide people? If anything it will bring in new people here that dont speak English, but can still be a part of the community.

Re: multinational
They'll get confined to their lingual community then.
Re: multinational
and then people with less number of their lingual comm. will get separated with the rest of the comm.
Re: multinational
JCL didnt invite us to join their site either.

Re: multinational
come on, nearly every european speaks english or at least broken english. this should be enough
Re: multinational
IMO forums should be in English, whereas I do agree that certain things, like the announcement post, EP information & changelog, could be written in different languages, too. It shouldn't be that big of a deal, since we have some Frenchmen, Spaniards, Germans etc. registered already.
Re: multinational
It's double sided. It's indeed a nice way to gather the nationalities. However, there should be a mod for each language. If announcements were in various languages, could upgrade the status of the site and attract the non-english speaking players

Re: multinational
I don't like the idea of separate language forums. It will create separation, there will be discussions where not everyone can participate and people might feel discriminated because their language doesn't exist on the forum. I've seen those language sections more often on AoE forums. An example were the old official AoE forums: the forums were barely used, and if they were used only a couple of persons posted in it.
I see, however, only a potential in Japanese language forums. We all know this community is basically split between Japan and the rest of the world. In case we want the Japanese players to post here too, a Japanese section could be a great idea. It could be a start of working together, finally, as one community.

Re: multinational
Japan already has a community site though.

And so do the french I believe.
Just a language section isnt really going to attract the entire japanese community.

Also, ffs, enable admin activation of accounts, because your bot filters don't work.

1. It is not slways bots
2. There are too many new members for mods to deal with activation requests
3. How would you see a difference between a spammer and a real user anyway?
Btw i think buckethead already improved the bot filter anyway.
Also bot filters do work because so many bots have actually been blocked out. Just a few gets through

Bots have weird emails. Their emails have some random combination of characters which are clearly the result of an algorithm. Or, more recently, bots have started to mimic human emails, but you can still spot them, since the domain of their email address is usually located somewhere in Russia.
