Jerom wrote:The actual council's program is to continuously attack esoc staff (you know, those people that picked up esoc as a hobby and end up spending time getting shit on by a community for everything they do basically) while not doing anything themselves. If you, for some miraculous reason, want to help esoc out, you should probably just pm and admin and do shit. That being said the core of the council appears as a group of immature trolls that are trying to bring destruction and divide the community.

I think LCM-like tournaments are needed.

I agree, the Second Chance Tournament was a blast to put on and went over quite well, imo.

In addition, the Diplomunion Tournament is hosting players from all sorts of skill levels right now and site's recent New Years Invitational is from PRs 24-35, roughly.

It's great to see community members step up and create content like this.

You were going to do one until you fucked off to somewhere and never returned. As is the story with most community tournaments.

We need more people who take initiatives and fewer who inhibit them.

Agreed. So why did you stop taking the initiative when you had the chance?

I helped a lot on that project. Even if it didn't take off I still think it helped inspire some of the more recent tournaments

@Mr_Bramboy I can understand that you criticise me given my misconduct, but I think it's not fair that @sdsanft and @benj89 are the target of a cabal like yours.

There is a great deal of discrimination in this community aimed at those who seek to help it. I don't think it should be tolerated for much longer. When will we hold our first elections?

How is the Council a "major influence"? Diarouga was never a "key member" and now he is banned, Incog is gone and now there are only two active people supporting this whole business. Let's be honest, nobody really thinks ESOC is "morally corrupted" and this whole Council thing is a fringe opinion, barely remaining credible because of a beautiful looking manifesto and the name "ESOC" tacked on the front.
Stop trying to vilify hardworking, honest mods who try to keep an unruly community on topic and behaving nicely and actually do a good job.

perhaps it wasnt a good idea to have someone who was previously banned to represent the council. While the council may not be good at putting forward their ideas and havent had clean records, i fully stand by their decisions. We are currently play testing RE match ups with spadel, cramper, diarouga nobumanteikoku and (sometimes blackstar plays and recs but isnt in on this) , on ep maps as we feel its best to go back to the beginning rather than rebuffing a civ that was previously nerfed into the ground. We currently have a rec pack of around 70 recs of controversial MUs and have a list of 25 more matchs that are planning to be tested. Imo ep shouldve had playtesting rather than having a random idea about how to balance a civ and praying it works. Ep balance may be better in some regard but it really messes with the civ design. For example ports should be on the defensive fighting for map control, not taking complete map control with 3+ atp stagecoach tps. Im not hating on ep, however playtesting is the true way of fixing balance/making balance as good as it could be. Either way, a few of us have decided to playtest as many match ups as possible that have some disagreement amongst us and the community. We therefore appreciate if youd listen to our ideas and see whether you agree with them or not (except the basement and sometimes mimsy :D), the council is just looking to improve balance, however it may be poorly put across because mimsy and dia are french. Testers are welcome, however to make it more precise they need to be good enough to beat other testers in unbalanced match ups
