Since I like how insightful the last 2 topics were i decided to make a new one myself.
Spain seems to be an interesting civ since they have pretty much everything. Goons, skirms, lancers, musks, rods and even missionaries. So i wonder what the best composition would be with so many units to choose from and only so much pop space to fill.

Late Game Army Composition - Spain
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Skirm-rod-lancer or simply rods-cannons. And of course missionaries.
I wouldn't bother with huss. No royal guard up and you have to pay for the ups. Also when there is already an overall purpose melee unit in the combo I find specialised unit to be more useful.

Hey! You stole my ideas you meanie! I was going to make this thread
I think this is a better and more interesting question than Germany or India because Spain has quite a lot of options but really aren't given the opportunity to utilize those options, especially considering they have a relatively low eco. Kind of like Brits, they have a lot of things they can do but they usually do a colonial based play. Same with Spain, but they usually only do FF based plays.
I agree with Garja (Skirm + Rod + Lancer + Missionary + Cannons maybe), it's just a really micro intensive unit comp though. You have to make sure your rods are in a position to defend artillery and skirms from surprise cav, as well as keep your missionaries moving around and make sure your Lancers aren't kited to death by goons. It's like a China comp but you actually care about the well being of your units. That being said, it should be a pretty strong comp and fights should be pretty quick because missionary boosted units (especially artillery) absolutely tear through enemy units, even their counters.

Rod/lancer or rod/cannon is pretty vulnerable to pure goon mass, so mixing 10 skirms in to dissuade them is almost always worth IMO. Otherwise those are pretty strong compositions.
Re: Late Game Army Composition - Spain
In late game you can't really kite that much, rods are actually speedy
