Unique Units

Post by jj0823 »

Hi
Simple question today: What's the best way to field civ-unique units, like Urumi/Spahi/Dog Soldiers/Skull Knights?
I am not sure if I am missing any unique mechanisms in game besides shipments/fire pits/ age up politicians. It seems tough to get a formidable mass of Urumi between fights, since the later the game goes, the shipments take longer to get.

You can dance to get dog soldiers or skull knights at the firepit.

It depends on the unit itself. Spahis, for instance, are available only in a HC. Urumis as well, as far as I'm concerned. As mentioned, you can get Dog Soldiers from the fire pit from age 4 onwards, HC and big buttons, alternatively from the Lakota settlement.

You can alternatively send a shipment that allows you to create them in a monastery. They're amazing from all perspectives, but yes, it's a big and not-really-necessary investment with all these beefy infantry you already have access to.

But, Lakota are only on nilla - and Lost - replaced by the Cheyenne on TWC and TAD

Trainable Spahi would be interesting, it would make Otto more viable in treaty-ish games. Not that I like Otto lamers on RE in the first place, but maybe on EP it would be a cool feature. I thought I saw a thread completely about that earlier.

Urumi are only really viable as the fortress 7 shipment. Best way to field them is to pop them from a building as a surprise.

They work well blended with cav since they beat anticav. They can cover mode too.

In general the unique units mentioned are not worth massing. They are better as a special unit complimenting your army.

urumi are great in IV as well, but not as a pure urumi comp. but its partly because india doesn't really have great IV shipments.

The ∞ 9 urmi/9 urmi + 1 mansabdar urmi is the current 'great' age 4 shipment for India. Shivaji's Tactics is good aswell.

it sux tbh, it gives only 5%, for a IV card that's so bad, it's insane lol. but because india's IV cards are so shit, it's still worth to pit it lol

Nah, 5% is good, it upgrades all units with HP and attack and also, it has a team tag which makes it more effective in team games.

One guy starts and another guy joins in. :hmm: I'm tired to argue things. This card is as good as the Team Chonindo, If you're going to talk shit about the card, then you shouldn't have it in your indian decks. Lol.
