Well if you scout properly that the jap guy ages up with samurai, and if you use correctly your explorer to shoot at the samurai or snare it, I don't see it achieving anything. Especially vs azzy, they age up so fast and will have their explo upgraded to age 2 + some pets + warhut up really early so you should actually probs keep the samurai in base and use it to cover yumis early on

For the people that are doubting dyddyd's tactical insights, here is dyddyd beating one of the top tier aztec players in a tournament setting.

I would like to add that if its a 300w start and youre getting a consulate anyways, that its probably better to age with the toshugu shrine either way. But otherwise I can see where the torii gates idea is coming from for sure. Also, although not showcased as well as it couldve been in that last game, yumi samurai is a serious composition against aztec. It could be better than anything else. Japans army trashes aztecs army with this in my experience, if you survive samurais are the perfect tool to break the fb too.

i dont care. i have 0 respect for players like him, who cheat and then act like theyre super op. Kynesie was just like him. he can only play one civ. he's fucking terrible at everything else. he's pretty creative with his strats, which is a good thing. but he cheats, even on his stream rofl, and he lags like a bitch. those are just facts. you can do with it what you want.

I like the idea of the Shogunate age up. Combined with a tp start, you can have 2 shipments in age1 and even 3 upon aging, depending on the treasures you got. Not sure about a standard card order, but it's a strong and flexible build againt many rushes. Also military units are cheaper so you can get away with less eco. (quoted you bc i saw it in your stream)

You don't get it in colonial (would be op if you think that daymo is a whole shipment). You get 400xp instead of 300xp tho.
