It's probably worth getting those extra xp passes in before upgrading to stagecoach so that you have that important crate sooner or have an age 3 shipment when you ff or you can ship your unit shipment earlier to hold a timing or something else. I was playing a game today that Kaiser commentated and in-game I remember I macro'd wrong and didn't stagecoach as early as I'd like but when I eventually aged I had an age 3 shipment available that Kaiser didn't think I'd have which turned out to be way more meaningful than a few hundred extra resources that I didn't even have the infrastructure to put into units.

This just dawned on me - I could be totally wrong though.

lol wut, GL is terrible. one of the worst actually. although it does make for crazy games usually, so if entertainment is your criteria, then yes, its one of the best. you're either going to have no hunts, or no mines, or no trees, or a combination of the above, so youre gonna have to improvise XD i remember one game i wanted to do india semi ff. then i realise i have no mines in my base or on my side of the map. i took the tp's and used stagecoach for gold to age, and then went rajput urumi mahout in age3 lol. was epic game.

well im mostly speaking about snowy great lakes which is often good i didnt think of summer.. anyways sonora is way worse.. great plains can be way worse..
maps like carolina can have 1 hunt on ur side aswell as yucatan etc.. silk road aswell.. so yea great lakes is one of the better maps if u keep these maps in mind.. for me its usually better to play
edit: oh and not to forget california which bug spams with no base hunt sometimes

i love starting in Gl without a mine and a hunt, and in yucatan without explorer.

I've had that 2 once, after some minutes of game. Then I found in replay he had 6 petarded my tc.
There goes the bug excuse for me. :hmm:

Youre often going to find your elk miles away from your tc. And theyre terrible to herd. The winter version is indeed better though
