what is the best anti-japan civ without patch

Post by LONEWOLF123 »

hi ,what is the best anti-japan civ without patch
some say that is aztec but i think its more about luck (like tresuares)
some say it is Ottoman but if Ottoman cant rush there is no chance (maybe a chance with Ottomn sea eco and petards)

India and Russia do a pretty good job. Any civ that can mass very fast early on (like a rush civ etc) stands a good chance vs Japan, unless Japan is allowed into late-game.

In late-game spain with unction can beat japan, but it is tricky as Japan is a bit more motile.

Ottomans, Aztecs, Russia I think for sure, I'd also say Iro and India, but that's without much experience :? From more „standard" ones, I guess the British do their job.

Yeah from my experience in qs its actually not too bad for japan, though still quite iro favoured.

But for anti-japan, I would say brits. Brits have more units and more eco at pretty much any stage in the game, and longbows are really the only thing you can contest yumi's with in age 2.

on low lvl playing vs japan is difficult imo because you have to play in a certain way and doing mistakes is punishable even if the japan played does nothing because they are gonna come ahead. The civs that gives you the most freedom in that way is probably Russia, from my experience Russia is an easy civ and pretty straightforward when it comes to timings and unit compositions, especially in that mu. By the way I excluded otto and iro not because they are not good counters but because I lack the experience in these mus

Only 5 year difference between your and his first game doe!

Sorry pal, I know you like to be young and fresh and all that. But we're getting to the aoe 3 relic section. But in a year or two, fresh aoe 3 players are asking questions about Umeu. "Who was Umeu and why his name bears so much weight?" And you know, these new upstrat scrubs be fully matured till then and be like. Haha, it's not about young or fresh, but i guess i though yura had been around for longer. Still, our tad experience is less than a year apart. Maybe thats why.

Its true were getting to the relic section. When i beat these scrubs nowadays i feel like 50 yo george foreman.

To add on to that, Aztecs on EP does the job pretty well. Ship 3v 700w 10 mace 9 mace while creating puma. Push as soon as 9 mace arrives to your forward BH, siege shrines in the meantime.

An ottoman stagecoach jan/abus strat also works very well. I forgot the exact build, but it was something along the lines of 700w 700c 600c/5jan. Chop for a 2nd tp in transition, upgrade stagecoach and build barracks, build houses and 3rd tp and artillery foundry. Put one tp on wood for houses/market ups. Abus outrange all of Japan's units in age 2, so be sure to poke as much as possible.

Abus don't outrange yumi. And in fact, mass yumi are one of the best ranged age2 counters to abus, along with lb and ghurka, and probably the best out of those 2
