You just made too many cav, I mean since you sent cav combat first I guess you went for a huss heavy composition in that first fight you lost hard, and I see 97 huss on elo rofl. But you will never be able to push in jap base with a tower and ashi yumi clubs flaming arrows in lag or w/e, you need to get artillery imo if you go so greedy. With that 1k gold or with 1k wood you get that fast

Context: map was Siberia. I semi ff'd intentionally to test this play style. I played verbatim pressure-shrine/boom/take stagecoach. I was 200/200 military pop with no shrknes on hunts and full stagecoach TPs and map control. It was then I aged to IV myself but the game didn't see it out as I lost that last battle hard and had vills all over the map. Perhaps that was my mistake. There were no glaring micro mistakes just Japanese units scaling remarkably well.

I'm aware the MU is brit favored but i intentionally played it unlike I normally would. I have plenty of wins under my belt in this MU.

I only transitioned to add musk after lbow/Huss failed vs yumi/ashi/nagi.

I wish I'd streamed this match so y'all could see how perfect my age 3 timing was and how I lost everything.

Anyways it's less about complaining about the MU but just kind of adding to my "Japan after 12 minutes wins every game" theory.

you probably couldve broken him earlier with musk cannon spam + 2 culv and add huss when you hit a decent mass of musk.

If you boom 200 pop, go age 3, and he goes age 3 too, you should jump to age 4.
Redcoat+rocket+culverin should work.

Brits kinda outscale Japan in the first 8 minutes of the game. I mean Brit boom just kicks in a bit faster and you can make more units in the first 10 minutes. After that walking time just kills any civ efficiency vs japan.
Anyway it depends vastly on the starting conditions and where shrines are placed, etc. I'd say setup animation of lbows is what prevents Brits from otherwise winning 90% of times.
Ah also on RE Jap get free 1000xp with industrial shogunate so ye it's hard to outscale them.

The problem is that brit don't have skirmisher, and redcoat lose to ashigaru.
You can just go age 4 this game. Redcoat still lose to age 4 ashi, but you have better eco so it's ok.
2 factory rocket+guard longbow is a solution too.

Aizamk's wisdom:
1. Go age 3.
2. If possible, go age 4.

japan has probably the weakest lategame tbh. they have a lot of upgrades but their units are nothing special and they lack culverins, if you manage to max out vills and are not very behind In army or one age behind you probably won
