Vane's Patch: China eco FF guide (German consulate FF) by thebritish
As the title states, the goal of this strategy is to Fast Fortress with china with an amazing eco.
Whether or not this build is actually better than the standard build is up for debate, but it is without a doubt more versatile than the other build.
Deck
Age 1:
- Open either double village or village + TP. Either is fine, but personally I prefer village + TP unless there are some really good treasures or a lot of livestock. Save your goat until Colonial. - Send Northern Refugees.
- Age with the Summer Palace (400f), put 4 vills on the wonder.
Transition:
-Put all, but 4 vills to Wood, new vills go to Food. If you havent gotten any coin treasures, put few vills on coin after you've started building the market.
-As soon as you gather 100 wood, build a market and as soon as you have 50food, 50wood, 50coin, get the first big market upgrade, then get the first market upgrade and the first coin upgrade.
-You should be able to gather around 200 wood when you are nearing your age up. Start building the consulate with 1 villager and switch all your vills from wood to food and coin (split them) as soon as you ather 65 wood for the second market upgrade.
-In case you did open with village+tp, skip the market and get a second village instead. get the market in transition to Fortress.
Age 2:
- Send 400 export.
-400 export should arrive at about the same time your consulate finishes.
-Ally with Germans in the consulate and get the coin trickle, food trickle, wood trickle in that order. (you might need to wait abit to gather enough export for the wood trickle). When you get all of them, cancel the relations and ally with brit.
-Send 800 wood as your second card. gather 160 wood from the crates to get the second big market upgrade, then continue gathering food and coin with the vills that were used to gather the wood.
Transition
-From the 800 wood, build 2 raxes and a third Village.
-Put 8 vills on the wonder.
Age 3:
- Send 5 Meteor Hammers and make 2 batches of sword+skirm or Send 10 skirms and make 2 Cavalry batches, 1200w (for a second TC, more villages, tp), or 1200c (for iron Troops/Manchu). Send Intervention as a second (you wont be able to send it as a first card becase you would still be on German consulate when you get up.
- Ensure your Porcelain Tower is on wood, or food/coin if you feel you really need the resources for units, but try to never leave it on the trickle of all resources.
-When you get up you should be able to easily train units from both raxes at the same time due to your great eco thanks to the trickles.

I like the 1000w -> 1200w and 700w ->800w changes, they were definitely some of the weakest shipments out there

I gather them with vills who have most if not all market upgrades on them. On top of that i have food+coin trickle (8 vills without market upgrades) that can never be idled.
Its basically Germany 3 SW, 700 wood naked FF with 5 more vills.

It doesn't seem broken at all then.
@Kaiserklein don't forget to notice that not only the terrible 700w has been buffed, but also the well known awful 300 export has been buffed too !

Wait.. On re you can only get food trickle with german consulate in age2. If you can get all of them it means you made them cheaper and you've changed their age requirement. You normally cant get coin till iv lol

Only the age reguirement has been changed, the export cost hasnt been changed. On paper it seems OP, but when you take Chinas civilisation bonus (access to consulate and export that is autogathered), you can see it kinda balances out.
Actually, vills dont gather faster, they train faster and they are cheaper. And yes, you start with more vills at the start to speed up the game abit.
