brits against france

Post by deleted_user »

lately i struggle against france. what should be my plan: slow semi (3v700w5v700g) or fast semi (3v700w700g5v)? and do you guys prefer the musk semi into cannon or cav semi into lbow goon handcav?

I'm not a fan of musk semi, I prefer cav or pikes. Time favours lb-goon-huss over skirm-goon-cuirs And I vote for slow semi, but 600w instead of 5 vills.

I think you can play it in age 2, with a nice timing heavy on huss when france ages up, and deny any attempt to stagecoach. Then switch to more lb as france will go heavier on goons, but always keep enough musks and huss to defend a big batch of cuirs.
If you want to semi, I think cav is better because you can kinda outmass france in cav fights, and because you'll anyway upgrade huss since you need some in fortress. Dunno about the build order though, but from my experience don't skip the 5v shipment, otherwise your eco won't be better than france's, and you will lose because your semi-ff is still slower.

You mean Goodspeed VC strat maybe?!

Anyway, either that or classic huss/mus timing at 9 min. Don't have to be exactly when they age since you gain a lot from min 8 to 10 while they just one card. Gonna be hard tho vs cdbs.

i wonder how the overpowerouga had lost to aizamk

anyway a semiff 700w 5v 700g with a tp in transition would work. or you can try goodspeed's VC boom.

With 700w 5v 700g you age up slightly later and will be behind for the entire game, eventually losing. Of course if the French player doesn't exploit it, Brits have a chance that way.

i didn't play brit often, but with a transition TP brit should send 700w 5v 700g continuously, and it won't be too late.

It's not about the shipments, it's about not having fast age and having to up the units, that can't even kite.
If you survive the first push it generally means the French player is switching to cuirs and then it's over.

To me it seems musk huss pushing, and then timing a few longbows well so that they stop skirm/goon from getting crazy cost efficient, should be a really efficient strategy.

What i love about playing brits is that usually you have lots of option about what to do in any given MU. Imo you should vary your BO to keep you opponent gessing what youre doing
I used to like doing a lb+pike timing to destroy some buildings and then either ageup myself or adding huss to keep the pressure up. You can also try an ~8min musks timing adding hus+lb afterwards (fuelled by crates). Aklak rush can be good vs unaware opponents.
Any sort of semi-ff is also an option but you gotta have enough resources in base to pull a defense early in fortress and not starve afterwards.
I find that on a 300w start TP into 3vill+VC is very strong to follow up their huss semi-ff
