Fast industrial time possible
There is a way to be in industrial age (FI) faster than 9-10 min without enime preasure ?
In case of yes , what civ, map or BO ?
I saw Fast imperial in 8 to 9 min but that happened stealing enime resources, doesnt count but even this case, the community challenge made me think there is a why to make fast industrial be faster ?
I made FI with French, but i was playing in speed slow, idle time was controled so i clicked up to industrial in 6min 50 sec, when i tried same thing in normal speed i clicked up in 7min50 sec, some times even in 8min (arrive age 4 in 9 to 10 min)

A decent enemy will scout what u are doing and watch ur deck, so if they dont FI themselves they will do a timing on u and probably right click ur TC.

@BrookG maybe if you have 50 billion bison hunts sure
Re: Fast industrial time possible
Ger FI is probably that fast
Re: Fast industrial time possible
There is not much room to speed up your build. At the end of the day you have to click a button and have the res ready. It will take 9mins minimum.
The fastest would probably some kind of 3v,700c,600c,1kw build. But that sounds rather suboptimal.

Re: Fast industrial time possible
I tried only once without being optimal, I did 8min48 with otto... BO was 3v/700g/700f/1000g...
No special tresure, map was high plains

Re: Fast industrial time possible
On deccan with France you can go 16 cdbs age up, getting a TP, hunt dogs and placer mines in age 1. This will make you be able to click age 3 (with fast age up politician) directly when you aged to age 2 (without shipping 700g), treaty style. You can then use the 400w age up for steel traps, houses and whatever you like (usually a church for grens!). Ship 4 cdbs because you can (if you wanted to be more all in and age up to age 4 even faster, you could also try to ship 700f). Then upon age 3, just ship 1000g and age up to industrial. You can be age 4 at 9 min with the 4 cdbs, and probably at 8 min 40 or so with 700f.
But well, that's on deccan so it's kinda cheat. For the fastest age up time you usually want to be otto.

For fastest age 4 time you'd probably do 500f age up, 700c and 700f shipment to then almost instantly click up to age 4 haha. Could be doable.

Re: Fast industrial time possible
The problem is that you click age 3 directly upon age 2. With fast age up, it takes 40 sec, so you're age 3 40 sec after being age 2. That's the time for 1 colo shipment, and then you might as well ship 1000g instead of 700g upon fortress.
About 500f age up, I guess it would slightly speed up the FI yeah. Though I'm not sure, because with the 700f + 40s of transition to age 3 + 40s waiting for 1000g, you probably gather your 2000f anyway.

Re: Fast industrial time possible
Kaiser is thinking fastest useful FI vs fastest FI. there’s no point in hitting age 4 with no shipments or infrastructure.
Re: Fast industrial time possible
That's not the fastest but probably the best way cause you can slow age to fortress which gets you a bit of military presence, and you get the 1000wyemshi wrote:There is not much room to speed up your build. Well I also just don't see a way to make it faster as France on deccan :p but yeah it's also useful

Do you have a BO for that?
Re: Fast industrial time possible
Not mine, but from recordings of breeze and boneng
send schooners, 14 v with 400 w age up, in transition gather only wood and docks and wall your base, send 700 w and boom with 3 docks to 40 total pop. After 700w only gather food and 300g. Send 700g. Age fast and send 1000 gold. You can get industrial around 9-10 minutes but i dont recommend it. It is better get tp/market, sending ships or playing greedy according to your oppenent.

There was an FI competition maybe 11+ years ago and iirc the winner used texas and even made pikeman, I think they were french though I don't fully remember. It might've been even before TWC/TAD were out.

Re: Fast industrial time possible
iirc fastest imperial was 8:20. fastest industrial would probably be otto on deccan, fastest viable would probably otto/germany/france on deccan and most viable while being considerably fast would be otto water on new england/plymouth. Amster used to do 9:45-10;00 min rev on that map with good amount of huss. although you need to be untouched on water for that I guess
Fine line to something great is a strange change.

Yeah they were French and hit IV around 8 min I think.WickedCossack wrote:There was an FI competition maybe 11+ years ago and iirc the winner used texas and even made pikeman, I think they were french though I don't fully remember. It might've been even before TWC/TAD were out.
But iirc this was including stealing the AI's starting crates.

Re: Fast industrial time possible
i did an 8m FI with Iro for the fast imperial challenge. it couldve been an 6.55 FI had I used fast age to industrial instead of imperial. Aklak was even 30 sec faster than that. we were both playing slow speed though, and on normal speed you would definitely be 30 sec slower because of inaccurate macro and in a normal game you would probably be even slower than that unless you play treaty.

why? it was allowed for the challenge. you can't get those times without slow speed you'll be welcome to try.

Does slow speed actually bugs with the clock and makes it doable, or its just about movement optimization?
If its just about macro, One might be able to do it in normal speed in single player with a lot o pausing to macro perfectly
