brit consulate, elephant combat, -1 pop, +5%/5% vs f. caracole, cav combat and +6 range. I'd say Jinetes is the better anti cav but in jinete vs howda I'm not sure.

Howdah for sure but since you can't mass that many in a competitive game, Jinetes are the best.

Well. Howdah is better than jinites but the a guy with some micro will win with jinites.

The problem with howdah is, it can be one-hit killed with a mass units. And losing 1 howdah is far worse than losing 1 jinite(losing 600 res is very bad, losing 1 goon only cost you 160 res). So cost-wise, and by viability, goons just better.

Also jins have 20 range, howdah has 16 range. They outrange them and also jins are fast. In high level game, stats don't matter, speed and range does because it's about your micro.

I played a nr game on Indochina, we both full upgraded our anti cav. Howdah just pwn jinetes regardless of the micro.

Yeah. One can make a statement which is a theory without testing it.

Theoretically saying Howdah is better.
Practically, goons just win with micro even if Howdah has better stats.

In my memory,
Imperial Howdah has similar to 1600 HP and 142 Attack and 20% RR.
Imperial Jinitee, maybe around 452 HP and 45 attack or 30% RR (I don't know if it's exact. Correct me if I'm wrong)

Why does no one concider Cost efficiency?

In 1v1 (1 Goon vs. 1 Howdah) Howdah would probably win, but a goon is still cheaper and imo can be microed better because of speed and range. (So in theory could also take down the Howdah without taking damage

)

So i would say goon is better overall.

ofc in competitive 1v1s Jinetes are the best. But play Total War custom map and see what happens.

Don't ever forget the advantage of numbers. Having way more goons than he can have Howda is a huge advantage you can be many places at once with usable anti av force for instance while he really cant
