I would age with the 400 wood politician and get a market with hunting dogs and eventually steel traps and a house form it. You can also go for market + hunting dogs and a trading post in transition to colonial and build the blockhouse and steel traps from the 400 age up wood. 5 cossacks, 700 wood (to add a stable and a second blockhouse) and then 700 coin to fuel musketeers and cossacks seems like an easy strategy to do.

Always wood age. It's just much better.
You can build market/2nd bh/spam strelet with it.

One nice build people don't use is age up 17 with TP and shipping trickle+economic theory on discovery. Gets you op eco. Particularly good if don't get starting hunt and you need to do something with your vills before finding one.
Requires 200w start ofc and you need to make house before TP.

France/brit/german.
I remember watching a rec of tonkatu beating fre and german semi with that.
