Best water civ?
Aztec. close second is ports just because long range mortars give them great water control. Of course that means they are wasting a lot of pop in units that don''t fight. So you can just land a skull box on them and fuck them up severely.marco1698 wrote:What''s the best water civ?

1st Aztecs.
I like native warships. They are so strong against the 'big' ships.
I think 2nd is Ports.

Lol how is port ever best. The best civ has to have the extended range. So its between azzy, brit japan for first tier. India porto china coming second tier. Otto hangs between 2nd and third tier. Iro and sioux are actuqlly third tier despite not having schooners and stuff, just because canoes with waterdance rapes. Spain, russia and dutch are also third imo. And germany fre come last.

Port are faster so they can just caravel rush and brit/japan can''t hold that, they just loose their dock.umeu wrote:Lol how is port ever best. The best civ has to have the extended range. Ports arent faster than brits. And japan can simply delay their water vs ports, play land, knock ports down till they are restricted to the shore, then destroy everything with their op morataru and navy in a pincer move. Being strong on water doesnt require you to start water at all.

Obv brit wont start water, thats just stupid. And ye india china are pretty good on water, but i think india is a bit disadvantaged because they need wood for vils as well and they have an xp problem.

China has them nuke on them boats tho. I think it depends whether we only look at the strength on water with warships or generally look at the civs and how well they do on water maps. I also think that schoners plays a big part since only having warships won't give you that much of an advantage where as having warships + schoners does.

Meh,

2.Port
3.Brit

6.India
India waterboom isn't too bad. It won me tons of games, in both 1v1 and team on screwed maps. Obviously you won't start waterbooming early. The best India waterboom card BO is wood trickle>'...>'...>'...>'dock rickshaw. Start waterbooming.
If you want to early waterboom as India, try Boneng's strat on TP map. (TP-1st card trickle, 2nd dock and boom). Anyway, waterbooming from earliest as India is the worst thing you would ever do. It's just way MORE worth to waterboom after 7-8 minutes.

Aztecs, as good as they are, are generally overrated on water, much like seems to be the case ITT.

Aztecs are the only nation that gets the waterdance in age 1, the range and combat card in colonial, industrial tlaloc canoes to send in fort and 50% off the wood cost, + 10 warpriests (not villagers) dancing.
