cuir skirm vs goon skirm

I think mosty because Goons are better anticav than Skims are antigoon. If skims has 3x multiplier vs goon i think would be great. VS port dragoon u can feel this most. If the arsenal improvement for skim also works against goon i guess would be best. The mobility and hit and run capability gives goons advantage.

lol you are wrong, in early fortress it is 20 vs 12 range in favour of skirms so GG

EDIT:
and yeah as H2O says heavy cav comes best when is not expected, so I voted skirm + goon. Vs France you want to have a couple of anticav units. Btw. it''s less likely that is advanced fortress players will have 2 units composition.

Skirm cuir destroys skirm good. But ofc u should also have 5-10 goons of your own. I never understood why people refuse to make france's absolute best unit.

Their best units are villagers and 3 unit compositions are better than 2 unit compositions.
Anyways I think it depends against what you have to fight, against colonial infantry units that are weak against cavalry, for example against Russia, I prefer the cuirassiers skirmishers composition.
But against Dutch or Portuguese I prefer skirmisher dragoon composition, just because your cuirassiers are less effective against their massed anti cavalry.

Goon + skirm definitely. If you're playing a team game and a French reaches age5 and has Imperial Gendarme though... things may get a bit dicey. Still, I'd prefer goon/skirm.
