when i play sioux i can reach pr31+ relative easily
but when i use french i just loooooooooose
if i keep using french a month i will be 2nd lieut then

french chopped a lot during transition and has few food and gold when reaching age 2. so, if my opponent doesnt raid me i can train 5 hussar or 3 huss 5 musk in the first batch. but if 5 coss or 3 hussar come very early and raid, i can only train 1 hussar then.how to solve this?
i learned goodspeed's guide and chop for a tp. but it seems a bad idea vs early pressure?

If you're outnumbered (during a rush), use your vills after the improvements of attack and hp. Semi 5/8 huss or 10 musk isn't a bad idea to reach fortress faster against some civ, if you kill 5+ ennemy vills with your colonial army, you're in a good position ')

French first batch of cav comes at like 6-615 while 5 Cossack shipment is arrive at 510 or so.... It's really more like a minute earlier tbh

Fre is a very good civ. You don't need much food compared to some other civs and they can be agressive and defensive depending on the map, so that s fine.
Erik can reach pr42+ with fre, you definitely can if you play well enough.

Just build stable with 2 vills and gather wood crates with more vills. Also it''s rare that russia ages with no idle time, and the cossacks will take about 5-10 seconds after they arrive before they get to idle your vills

From the games we played yesterday, you don''t seem to be used to being the one under pressure. I mean, it''s extremely easy to take the map with early cav and starve you. I''m fairly sure it''s literally just due to the cav popping a bit late, gotta remember you no longer have quick age up. Definitely not a noob (Well other than that vill-cannon incident), and Fre is pretty strong, I find Brits to be their main competitor..

Ok so russ are a very good civ cause darwin reached 42+ with them ?

French are decent because they are versatile, but they still need more food than most civs : sioux, otto, dutch, germany, india, china, japs, spain... And civs like iro, russ, azzie often get easy map control so easy food

Well, I played fre a lot and I didn't have much problems with food. In most cases you can just take the mapcontrol and map aren't too bad on tad. I haven t faced iro tho.
