ww cost 66.6% more than goons and need 60 sec to train vs 38 sec
ww cost 1 pop per 100 res, goons cost 1 pop per 90 res
vs ranged dmg ww have 1.66 hp per res and goons have 1.9 hp per res
vs meele dmg ww have 2.083 hp per res and goons have 1.333 hp per res, so ww only countered by skirmish type and not by melee cav
ww have 16 range vs 12 range
ww are less easily baited by cav or killed by skirmisher because of the range
also ww can kill musketeers easier
ww have 6 speed vs 7.25
ww have 0.14 dmg per res and goons have 0.144 dmg per res
in melee ww have 0.07 dmg per res and goons have 0.0722 dmg per res
ww have more overkill than goons, and goons get overkilled easier
ww live longer than goons and thus don't lose damage output that rapidly
ww can kill falconets easier than goons, even if slower (can't block, won't come as close)
ww: less dmg and vs ranged less hp than goon
more hp in meele so only skirm are counter to ww
more overkill
bigger range
better vs musks
better vs cannons
slower
turning
dmg won't decrease fast if traded off (a ww with 1 hp still does same dmg, so enemy needs to kill 500hp before dmg decreases)
ww cost 1 pop per 100 res, goons cost 1 pop per 90 res

I think the speed difference and mobility difference is quite a big deal tbh. It's where goons shine, they are so mobile.

Yeah, also your goons will be behind your skirm mass so you don't really care about melee resistance, you need damages and range resist.
The war wagon thread
so what now? are they behind the skirms where the 16 range will shine and the speed difference won't matter or are they out running around? Also against some compositions you need something with melee resist since you will find yourself in close combat.

The only point I like on WW's is the fact you have hided skirms.

The thing is that people will musk/pike and melee your WW

Also, this is the thread where the options don''t properly reflect those of actual gameplay.h2o wrote:This is the thread where the poll doesn''t match how people are playing

The beauty of skirm goon is that, whenever cav comes rushing in, you just pull back your skirms, let your ranged cav take a bunch of shots at their cav (while being outside of the range of your opponents skirms) and then repeat. It''s possible to do this with WW, but they''re go clunky that its a lot less effective.venox wrote:so what now? are they behind the skirms where the 16 range will shine and the speed difference won''t matter or are they out running around? maaaaaaas war wagons with upgrades are terrific.
but it is not easy to make maaaaaaass of them.

War wagons have always seemed to me to be a defensive unit that players are forced to use in an offensive role. Their slow speed, long range, and high attack makes one think that they should, theoretically be stationary and shooting at attackers.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
