Port Sheep FI

Now that I've got the Australians and the Welsh all hot and bothered, let's get on with the build.

Why would I send 7 sheep?
Ports have food issues, especially on RE, we all know that. A normal FI on land can be very challenging to pull off because you'll probably just run out of hunt. This build attempts to make an FI possible, even though it's still kinda a troll build. Always keep in mind that you can use the sheep to mass goons and cass in fortress if you don't think you can make it to Industrial safely.

The essential parts here are:
7 Sheep, 700w, 700c, 8 Cass, 5 Goon, 1000c, 1600w, 8goon, Portuguese Expeditionary Force, 2 heavy cannons, both factory cards, Genitours.

Card Order and Quick Build Guide

    7 Sheep
Age up with 500f, chop for livestock pen. Task sheep + any other livestock to it. If you have market don't bother with ST yet (not many vills).
    700c
Age up to Fortress ASAP.
    700w
Build a stable, TP if you didn't get one earlier, 3 houses.
    1000c
Sheep should be around 250-300f now, combo with 1kcoin and eat. Keep in mind you need to mine only 200g (but 350 for a set of MM is probably a good idea).
Age up with 1000c unless you're under alot of pressure, in which case organs or musk might be better. Make goons in transition. If you really need to you can send 8cass/5goon and mine the gold to age, you can spare the vills since you're collecting from herdables for food.
    2 HC
You'll be very short on pop by now, so you'll want to trade to get a couple houses then put some vills on wood.
    8goon/Expeditionary Force/Elmeti
You'll want to overpop with your second shipment and push while you gather/trade for houses and then train more goons. 8 goons is better comp-wise but expeditionary force is strictly a better card in terms of overpop and resources, it's your choice.

On the nilla mod Port is just much better in general so it probably would work on it (though the whole point of sending sheep is to combat bad maps and the mod already fixes that). I'm not sure how well it would work on normal patch though but as I stated earlier, you won't lose because you got map screwed thanks to the sheep.

@jamesmp98 on Nilla I wouldn't FI with this but instead put like 2/3 of your vills on gold when eating sheep, ship 1k wood, start double rax from 700w and spam cass + vills from 3 TCs and ship halb or something as anticav.

RE Ports, if you don't age 500f an FF is really really slow due to your shit eco. You probably could go 400w on EP.

but you wouldnt have to chop 200w for the pen. which is basically 350 food already.

I'm pretty sure ports can be age 3 at like 630 aging with wood......

Isn't it better to skip age1 card, ageup with 400w and ship 7 cows instead?
You can build a livestock from the 400w as Umeu said, and you'll have the livestock up nearly the same time as the cows arrive.
That's 1400 more food, that's a lot, and you can still eat the cows if you need when they only have 350-400 food in them.

Or just ship both

There was a guy on nilla who would do something similar with otto. Otto can also age with livestock I think

I tried this btw. And the 7 sheeps fattens by the time you could send 1000f so it's kinda the same thing, atleast on ESOC maps. It's funny how FI is actually legit with a TP start and good food in base.

Why are you comparing it to 1000f crates? The benefit of 1000f is that you can gather it much faster than sheep, but the benefit of sheep is that you can have 2800f which gathers slower, but helps more on a low food map.

+1, and also the point of the 7 sheep instead of 1k food is that it means you don't have to spend a shipment in fortress, therefore if you need to send 5 goon/8 cass etc to defend they come 30sec quicker.

Aren't 7 Sheep a lot better than 1000f?

Also, since you already have a Livestock Pen, you can reinvest into some more sheep!

In terms of efficiency when you consider decay(alot), VS buiding the pen, 200w cost of the pen, and the fact that 7 sheep take much longer to gather than 1000f crates, no. In terms of food conservation, you are probably slightly ahead with the sheep.

2100f*

Honestly isn't it worth paying an extra 300f to get 3 more sheeps if you paid for a pen ?

Whats the herding gathering rate? It already takes a significant time to collect 1000f in crate, probably like 50 food or so in villager seconds, maybe more.
