France starting crates market

Post by bugattivitesse »

Hey guys. I have a question about the French starting wood and coin crates.

So, if i get 200 wood, i build a market and house, then gather 50 coin and 50 wood for Hunting dogs in age 1, right?

And if i get 100 wood, 100 coin, i build a market, get some coin and trade for 100 wood for a house? And then gather for hunting dogs?

And what do i do if i get just 100 wood?

Thanks, all answers much appreciated.

If you start with only 100w, you do the same thing, chop 150w and mine 50c :) try to prioritize wood and coin treasures very early in the game to make this easier.

Also be aware that some maps have early treasures. This is great so you will not have to gather as much which translates to a faster age up.

I prefer getting a tp + house with 200w start. With a 100w start you still go market + house. Build a market in transition to age 2 if you built a tp with 200w.

If you start with only 100w and get for example 70+ coin from treasures, you can also just do like you would with 100w 100c start, which is gathering more coin to buy wood etc.
last time i cryed was because i stood on Lego

No, that was the old meta ;)
Now don't gather any wood/coin and age with 13 villagers.
While aging go tp+market.

Anyway, this was before the TP meta, now you'd want to chop 200w and go for a tp instead of the market and age with 14v if you don't want to age with 13 cdb.
Message me if you want to join the council team.

chopping 200w before aging up? delays age up so much but if you say so

If you age with 14 CDBs without idling your TC you will age right on time. When you start with 100w and no coin, you actually start with an extra food crate, so it isn't as hard to age on time as it first seems. The three different starting crate outcomes are normally referred to as 'coin start', 'wood start', and 'food start'. The extra food crate is what allows you to age with 13 CDBs, I think.

Yeah I think going 13 vills on 100w start is the best option, as you get an easily idle-less age up, and with a tp first in transiton, you easily get your first shipment 30 seconds sooner, and you can get 2 back-to-back shipments.

Aging 13 seems like a very good thing to do if going for a stagecoach boom, but other than that it seems to be slightly worse than market/TP with 14 CDBs, cause you can't make military right away anyway cause you need to build TP, build market, research market techs and don't have the resources, I think. It seems slightly worse because you just delay your market/TP without getting any real benefit from it.

wood start: TP + house (market in transition)
food start: just a house (tp + market in transition)
coin start: just a house (tp + market in transition)

that way or what?

Coin start is market.
Wood start is TP or market (if TP doesn't exist)
Food start is 13 CDB age up or market

In transition you just get what you don't have right now. In the case of early age up you build both.

With the 200w it's better to grab a TP first, and chop 100w (or get wood treasures) for a house. In the transition you will get the market up.

Nah you can get 4 huss most of the time, sometimes even 5. It also gives you a huge tempo advantage because you can train like 8 or 9 hussars around the same time other civs would only have 5.

I'd just go with market unless it is a wood start on a TP map, then go with TP. Save 13 vill ageup for later when you've already mastered the French macro.

200w -> tp and house
100w 100c-> house and market (buy 100w if u have those starting coin treasures else gather only 50c from crate and chop 150w)
100w -> house only age age with 13 villagers
