what is the best counter spain civ?

hi guys how can we counter spain they are to op at 1v1 and team games they rush hard must we use aztec or iroq?

I don't think that a Spanish colonial rush is a scary strategy. Just pick France and train musketeers with 3v 4v 700w 8bow, adding a baracks from the age up wood and another one from the 700 wood, calling minute men if need be and add a stable if they go for xbows.

all nice tatics but if i select otto the pro spain player defends hard ages up fast and the spain explorer upgrade is very good he is taking all the good tres if u select japan he siges ur shrines after that attacks u with lil army and ages up realy hard :l

Aztec/otto/French give Spain an hard time.

Go aztec and do a puma rush, taking down his tc before he can age or make units (target military buildings first if you think he has colonial agenda)

Go industrial with Germany. Your only concern is the damage Pikemen do to your Uhlans(if your opponent rushes you with something different than bow+pike you automatically win).
