Idk what the cut off is when you say "high level" play but I have won all in rushes against 2nd Lieutenants. It's really just about the right match up, scouting, and maintaining surprise. Like, if you're France against the Dutch and planning a vill rush, and after scouting you see the Dutch player playing standard, go rush. Should work fine.

The thing is, it's always a risk — for instance, when you send 3 huss, the other players may send 700c and age, and then you're put on a clock to do enough damage to make up for it, which is genuinely a tough task to do sometimes, especially if players know how to defend.

Rush still alive in RE maps .

In the current meta the game kind of turns out to a treaty 6-7 minutes tbh. The recent semi ff meta is being loved a lot by others for being more useful against rush aswell also age3 units are doing good against rush units.
Re: Is rushing in AOE3 dead?
The point where people start effectively holding rushes and adapting to them the right way is pretty far along the PR ladder. I'd say lt. colonel but even that is a low estimate I think. Depends on the player of course.CurassierAndCurassier wrote:Idk what the cut off is when you say "high level" play but I have won all in rushes against 2nd Lieutenants. Re: Is rushing in AOE3 dead?
yeah even in noobs game that big rush (FC- Fast Colonial rush BO ) is starting to die just because doesnt envolve eco and enime can defend with alot things(few army, towers, mm,walls, shipments, villagers and tc fire), i think this kind rush only works versus sioux because - no walls, no mm , no homes , so enime army go directly to sioux tc LOL
Maybe i am wrong but this king rush works if enime is surprised and depends the skills, for example if i hv 20 longowman in my base , french come to me with 8 cuirausers and some shirmishers, i will be afraid, be nervous ready to click gg, but if is h2o he will be fine and he even start attack the cuiraseurs with 20 longbowman
