Suppose you mis-scouted/ underestimated your opponent and he has a bunch of units (jans/ cossaks) in your base whilst you are aging up.
This happened in a game between Irish and LordRaphael for reference. IrishFaithfull cancelled his dutch age up so he could call minute men (800 res pop). Casters hinted that this may have been an error.

It's a shitty situation , because cancelling your FF delays your chances of winning even further, but then you might just lose on the spot if you don't get your MM out or your TC gets sieged down.
So do you cancel or not? Which decision gives you best chance of holding a rush?
Cancelling an FF / Semi - FF.
Re: Cancelling an FF / Semi - FF.
For Dutch, unless you think you will lose your TC, I think you shouldn't cancel, just wait for gold from the banks and buy food. The problem is that even if you do kill most o his army, in the time it takes you to age up again he will come back with 20 cossacks and 20 inf and then you will really have nothing to support when your age 3 shipment pops out.
last time i cryed was because i stood on Lego
Re: Cancelling an FF / Semi - FF.
Sometimes big MM pops are very cost-effective, so it may be worth it — definitely better than straight up losing a TC.

irish lose because he trained so few units in age 2.
